the life cycle of the trade week.

Carlton refuse to give up pick 3 for houston
Houston goes to Collingwood instead.
Instead of Houston, Carlton pick up Haynes.
Carlton get rid of Owies and pick up Evans from Port
To partly replace Evans, Port recruit Joe Richards which helps the Collingwood Houston trade get over the line
Then…

Pick 3 does his ACL

Incidentally four GWS players changed clubs in the off-season . Three of them are going great so far at Adelaide and Collingwood . The one that went to Carlton…. Not so much

Ps please no arguments about the accuracies or otherwise of my post. Poetic license taken in the spirit of the thread.

Prediction for next week's game from the Blues board 😆 :

Blues in front early. Effort there. Curnow looks ok. Just didn’t take chances. Pies start getting space and hitting targets. Daicoses running rampant. TDK a force of nature. Blues fans start worrying about umpires. Pendlebury shows poise immediately after Cripps/Acres/Walsh clanger. McGovern limps off. Mihocek or Elliott kicks four. Magpie army going nuts. Blues left to rue missed opportunities. Voss happy with the effort

They also gave up Kennedy who they told to his face that he wouldn't play midifeld, and subbed him out of the elimination final for no reason, plays midfield last night and stars

It's quite sad on the Blues board. I'm not usually a tourist but one of the regulars on the bant thread got banned so I popped my head in. Whatever it was must've been deleted.

It's pretty grim. Some are poking fun at themselves, others caling for 4 or even 10 changes.

Reminds me of us in 2020-2021, so I don't want to be too harsh.

And I still hate Carlton enough to see the funny side.

Not to mention the poor buggar had rushed to fly himself up to the game just after his wife had given birth, only to be subbed out of the match.

There was a lot going on in 20-21 so it’s cheap and easy to draw parallels. Especially as we won a flag two years later.

It’s not in the same ball park.

He should try sitting in the cheer squad to coach games. I’m sure he’d get some feedback from those around him

I’d call it ‘guidance’.

Challenge accepted to spotto the “accuracies or otherwise” …

… you should have written “The one that who went to Carlton”.

Did I get it? 😎

2 wins since July?
2 wins in the last 12. How it compares to other clubs.

  2. Hawthorn = 10 wins in the last 12
  3. GWS = 9 wins in the last 12
  4. Geelong = 8 wins in the last 12
  5. Port Adelaide = 8 wins in the last 12
  6. Western Bulldogs = 8 wins in the last 12
  7. St Kilda = 7 wins in the last 12
  8. Adelaide = 6 wins in the last 12
  9. Collingwood = 6 wins in the last 12
  10. Sydney = 6 wins in the last 12
  11. Fremantle = 5 wins in the last 12
  12. Gold Coast = 5 wins in the last 12
  13. Melbourne = 4 wins in the last 12
  14. Essendon = 3 wins in the last 12

For context, we've actually won 6 of our last 8. However, the 12 games includes the 4-match losing streak we suffered after the mid-season bye.

What would it look like for everyone’s last 8 then? Out of curiosity.

He was a fat kid who nobody thought would get picked until the end of the second round. Could barely finish the 3km TT. Regarded as extremely talented but a long shot due to questionable commitment to his fitness.

Nobody could have predicted that he’d grow about 5cm and be able to get his fitness right so rapidly after being drafted. It was pure luck that Carlton got him in an era of terrible drafting for them.

Yep, even a busted clock is right twice a day, which is still way better than Carlton's success rate at pretty much everything in life 😄

That’s better!

St kilda is surprising

Thinking the only time they will be in front is on account of being first to enter the arena. Their misery is a joy to experience.

I’ve noticed Vossys main move on match day is go from the coaches box to the bench.
Not exactly a game changer really. Still, better than playing Cripps as the second ruck I guess.
He’s an ideas man.
It saves from copping abuse on your way down after the game.

I'd rather get yelled at face to face as you walk past than
getting spat on from above walking down the race
