I wouldn't call him a "flog". Maybe "knob" is a better word. He missed on on the captaincy partly due to his social media activity.

To be fair to ROB if I could take a photo with Jordan Peterson I probably would. For the lolz.

There’s really nothing wrong with what Scott said.

There’s probably 10 clubs salivating at the opportunity to acquire a superstar talent for next to nothing. When it comes down to the actual decision, I’m sure many will back away but we’re all kidding ourselves if the majority of clubs weren’t discussion the possibility.

Every club in the AFL would still take him. And they know we’ll fire sale him. Perfect scenario for them, little outlay, potentially huge reward.
I'm actually not convinced every club would. I think it's reasonable to say every club would consider him - for sure, but this is such a unique situation. If AFL clubs knew there was a chance they'd have to pay a player 800k and it's more likely than unlikely that he is a real problem, then it's just not worth it.

It's telling that not only do the Bulldog players not interact with him on social media, but by and large no footballers do - there were times where Clayton Oliver was, but even that seems to have passed.

With Butters looking like he's staying at Port, and Pies with no picks, Trac in our midfield and forward line would do me. We have to go all out for a flag while Bont is still in his prime, otherwise what's the bloody point?
I'd go all out for Trac. In a heartbeat.

He'll play into his 30s as a Leigh Matthews type forward. You could hardly find a better player for Hynes to model himself after as well.

Keep an eye on Hawks if Reid stays in WA

He's going to get paid a motza regardless of where he goes (or if he stays), so that pretty much rules out smaller market clubs given the exposure he'd get from bigger clubs. Agree with you though, there aren't many on the list I wouldn't offer to bring him across.

ED RICHARDS (Western Bulldogs – Restricted Free Agent)

Glenn McFarlane says:
“He stays. I’m convinced he stays. He’s such an important player there. They’ve got a couple of ones done, the Dogs, but this is a real priority to get it done now. I reckon he’ll be looking at a five or a six-year deal. He’s a really good player and such an important player going forward. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of interest, but I’m pretty certain he’ll end up staying.”

MARCUS BONTEMPELLI (Western Bulldogs – Unrestricted Free Agent)

Lauren Wood says:
“He still has not re-signed! He said at the start of the season – and I asked him 18 different ways – ‘When? How? How much? How long?’– he was adamant it wasn’t part of his psyche, ‘we want to get off to a good start to the season’. Surely he is staying …”

Josh Barnes says: “What’s he doing on the list?! It would be the biggest ripple in many, many years if he decided to pack up and walk out of the Bulldogs. He just has to stay. He’s an ornament of the club, he’s the best player they’ve ever had potentially. It’s just impossible to imagine him in another jumper isn’t it?”
