So now Trump and Elon are not Nazis?

Just their supporters, I really need to know how many in there supporter base are nazis and how do we get to that conclusion
Elon is a nazi. Too much family history for him to not to be.

I don't think Trump is a nazi. Just a terrible human addicted to power and the limelight.

The Republican party, like every political party is a coalition of smaller groups. It is undeniable that Nazis are in that coalition.

What percentage of nazi support are you willing to live with?

There is definitely an element of white supremacism in the Republican base. There is a lot of talk about meritocracy happening right now in the USA. But it's the nudge nudge wink wink version of meritocracy, where any minority person in any position of authority is obviously a DEI hire. This Nazi salute is just another nudge nudge wink wink message to the base that the right people are now in charge, they no longer need to be afraid of political correctness and the coloureds, gays and trans can be punched down on.

Like I said I believe its less than 1%

But i really need convincing if its anything more than 5% roughly 3 million nazis in the US. Tbh anything more than 2% is stretch for me.

I agree Trump is something stupid and evil i just can't believe he convinced so many that he is "chosen by god"

The tech bros..interesting article.

There’s a dominant narrative in the media about why tech billionaires are sucking up to Donald Trump: Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, all of whom have descended on the nation’s capital for the presidential inauguration, either happily support or have largely acquiesced to Trump because they think he’ll offer lower taxes and friendlier regulations. In other words, it’s just about protecting their own selfish business interests.
That narrative is not exactly wrong — Trump has in fact promised massive tax cuts for billionaires — but it leaves out the deeper, darker forces at work here. For the tech bros — or as some say, the broligarchs — this is about much more than just maintaining and growing their riches. It’s about ideology. An ideology inspired by science fiction and fantasy. An ideology that says they are supermen, and supermen should not be subject to rules, because they’re doing something incredibly important: remaking the world in their image.
It’s this ideology that makes MAGA a godsend for the broligarchs, who include Musk, Zuck, and Bezos as well as the venture capitalists Peter Thiel and Marc Andreessen. That’s because MAGA is all about granting unchecked power to the powerful.

We’ll yearn for the days when Elon Musk was generally considered to be a quirky eccentric known for specialising in futuristic endeavours such as websites, electric cars and space exploration, with a near-universal approval rating.

Like how many of these bogeymen do you think actually exist in Australia?

The next 4 years are going to be hilarious.

I wonder what China is sitting in as a response if Trump goes for his heavy handed tariff tactics.

The rich will get richer and there is no way his manufacturing idea will make the place great agin in 4 years… he just loves power.

You are correct i know there are people who fit the descriptions on both sides, every team has their fringe. What % of people of the Trump supporter base do you believe are actually "Nazis"

I'm going to guess less than 1%. What do you think?

You old enough to remember the 80s and 90s? Do you remember Michael Brander? These idiots have been around for decades, well pre dating Donald Trump.

They were considered fringe idiots for decades, which is a far cry from what we have now. They’re no longer the fringe.

So that's why i asked the question, what % do you believe are actually nazis?

I didn't want to put words in your mouth

To label a group Nazis it must be fairly substantial % yeah?

I'm trying to get you to convince myself maybe I'm wrong and that nazis are now ruling the US.

I'm very comfortable to be wrong.

Yes as it is I dismiss the idea nazis are now ruling the US...

But I could be wrong and I am looking to see what your conclusions are

What a stupid bloody question.

It’s obviously a large enough group that politically ambitious people around the globe target and pander to the demographic.

We could also debate about whether the guy whose family got rich in apartheid Africa and just made a nazi salute , and the guy with decades of history saying racist things, charged with racist discrimination in his business dealings and half his policies revolve around xenophobia and nationalism are actual nazi’s or
Just pander to a group they see as easily manipulated. It’s a pointless distinction tho isn’t it.

Trump and co will blame it on someone else, and by the time anything gets really bad someone else will be in office and he will blame it on them anyway.

It's not pointless.

I dont even understand what you guys believe. You make sweeping statements with absolutely no evidence.

I am open to believing what you're saying.

I just need

1. An actual definition of what is you are saying. Can you actually define what you are saying.

2. Evidence for these sweeping statements.im sorry but I need more than trust me bro

Yes it is pointless to ask for a % amount of nazi’s in a country with skyrocketing nationalist sentiment that just elected a criminal president with a racist rap sheet longer than the Us Mexican border and cheered as a billionaire did the nazi salute.

“Evidence”

Dude did the ****ing Nazi salute at an inauguration. What do you need?

A holocaust and WWIII then we'll take your hyperbole seriously.

It is sounding all too familiar to be coincidence.

Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889 - April 30, 1945) was appointed chancellor of Germany in 1933 following a series of electoral victories by the Nazi Party. He ruled absolutely until his death by suicide in April 1945. Upon achieving power, Hitler smashed the nation’s democratic institutions and transformed Germany into a war state intent on conquering Europe for the benefit of the so-called Aryan race. His invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939, triggered the European phase of World War II. During the course of the war, Nazi military forces rounded up and executed 11 million victims they deemed inferior or undesirable—“life unworthy of life”—among them Jews, Slavs, homosexuals, and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Hitler had supreme authority as führer (leader or guide), but could not have risen to power or committed such atrocities on his own. He had the active support of the powerful German officer class and of millions of everyday citizens who voted for the National Socialist German Workers’ (Nazi) Party and hailed him as a national savior in gigantic stadium rallies.

Hitler, a mesmerizing public speaker, addressed political meetings in Munich calling for a new German order to replace what he saw as an incompetent and inefficient democratic regime. This New Order was distinguished by an authoritarian political system based on a leadership structure in which authority flowed downward from a supreme national leader.
