They say that the best insight into the true personality of others is to observe their treatment of animals and the tone of their postings on Bigfooty.

Stunning to think that anyone would dispute that collision he received last year

He was hit high.. but it was from Jimmy Webster who’d be lucky to bowl over a one legged mannequin.
Mate I am no real fan of Jy, but that Webster fella got him good and proper, Dipperesque if you will. Certainly would have rattled the old grey matter … didn’t appear to make his disposal wain, nor improve it for that matter 🤣🤣🤣, but it was still a huge hit by today’s standards. He can’t be too far away from joining X and CD in the headwear stakes, just for peace of mind, imo.

Less raucous woo-wooing this time, if memory serves. Maybe due to the fact that the captaincy hasn't switched to anyone new, but that's good to see. Makes me feel like they're all focused and just want to get on with things

He always felt like our real captain even when paired with Luke. It’s just official now.
2 more seasons until Sheeze steps up.

I don’t think he is any real danger of being dropped this season even if he wasn’t captain.
He was very good in match sim yesterday.
He played exclusively on the forward flank & was busy. He hit Darling up on the lead with a low bullet at one point, which drew praise from teammates.

It is also very evident that he is our leader out on the track. He is very vocal & makes sure he is up front in any running drills, pushing everyone else.
Looking forward to big season from Jy!!

As much as I think Jy is a hack and as much as I believe he sooks, as much as I think he occasionally thinks about himself more than the team (CCJ), not seen when JHF had blokes getting stuck into him, flys the flag for himself more than his team mates..

He’s probably the right choice for Captain in 2025. But 2026, he can **** off with Luke

Happy for Jy, he’s more than earned a stint as sole captain, 2 years imho.

Just quietly think he’s a huge upgrade as a full time HF and I’m hoping that’s where Clarko lets him settle.

He’s proven to be capable there as a resting mid, after exhausting himself playing undersized through the middle.

Screaming out for 4-quarter forward pressure and we plonk the fittest bloke at the club there - not a stretch to see some potential.

He’s a decent snap at goal in close, has quite a reliable set shot, and flushed a few from distance last year that honestly surprised me.

This role sets him up for some big tackles/smothers and pressure plays, captain’s goals, goal celebrations with teammates and firing up the crowd. It won’t surprise me if he’s an absolute menace up there tbh.

Well this has come out of nowhere...

Yep must be a deadset pile of shit to be voted captain by your peers for three years

You've depicted Jy as a terrible teammate. What have I missed?

Its my observation around JHF being pushed around by Silvagni and the CCJ incident and Jy slinging cheap shot breadbasket shots. Thats what I see and how I interpret it.

Jy is a well prepared professional with standards of training and fitness. Jy is there at the coal face and has been for some time AND IS THE RIGHT CHOICE

However..

He lacks a few things that I would like to see in the C at North and Shinboners.

He is not a piece of shit, he is not a scumbag.

He’s a B grade footy player thats tried his guts out. I admire that, but he wont be good enough for a spot in our 2026 team. Just like Luke isnt worthy of a spot in 2025.

I may use words you dont like, but I really dont give a shit.

Jy needs 2025 to do a whole heap better than 2 good performances a year and I really dont want to read “poor me” and “concussion” stories of why he hasn’t.

If its that bad, he can retire.

That's a lot softer than what you originally wrote.

Again, there have been other options for skipper and yet Jy has been picked again.

Those inside might know a bit more about him training and playing with him regularly than your very isolated observations over multiple years.
