fu**. It is terrifying how quickly Melbourne can score. 74 points and Bulldogs were up mid-way through the third. We did 119 points but we dominated from the start. Melbourne came from several goals behind and racked that up in a quarter in a half... insane.

i swear 6-6-6 is a blight on the game imo, far too easy to get centre clearance goals

We took the foot of the pedal late but Melbourne were piling on the goals late.

Was that also said in 2017 of Richmond who didn't even make the GF in 2018

Never know what's going to happen in 12 months time
People were saying Dogs would be a dominant force after 2016/were the best team ever. Immediately after premierships are won, people are quick to talk about dynasties and future potential. Some go on with it, some don't.

Melbourne are a group with a very talented core group of players and quality on every line, so they will be strong again next year but we'll see. Great 2021, though, and currently that's all they should concern themselves with.

Dees had 5 goals halfway thru the 3rd Q. Blink of an oreill and game over

Hes neither he is just a good coach.

Oh, I agree, just alluding to the double standard of how many people (not you) consider Scott a complete hack despite him coaching a side to a losing Grand Final last year, while praising Beveridge as this genius coach we're unlucky not to have.

Both are good but flawed coaches.

Despite what you've been saying in this thread tonight, Melbourne arent that far removed from Richmond. Fundamentally the game plan is the same. If you can curb the influence of their class players and keep the pressure on them then you beat them.

Melbourne's 2021 season has any of Richmond's from 2017-20 covered.

Melbourne arent unbeatable, the Bulldogs proved that only 2 quarters ago. You just have to go with them for 4 quarters, which is not easy.

They have a better list than richmond but otherwise i agree. You have to get your hands on the ball and slow the game down when they get a run on like this.

Their midfield is scary and we actually arent as bad as people think we are still clearly top 4 in the league melbourne are just another level above us all.

Melbourne don't play the same "controlled chaos" style of swarming the ball forward as Richmond did. Totally disagree with the idea that their style of play is similar.
