Two of St Kilda Football Club’s AFLW players, Kate Shierlaw and Tarni White, have expressed their desire to be traded to other clubs during this year’s trade period.
Shierlaw and White were both original members of the Saints, joining the team ahead of its inaugural season in 2020. According to Head of AFLW Tessie McManus, the two players made significant contributions to the Saints’ AFLW program throughout their time with the club. Shierlaw served as captain and vice-captain, winning the Best and Fairest award last season, while both players were well-liked by their teammates and fans. The club will now work to facilitate appropriate deals with other clubs to ensure the best outcome for the players and the clubs involved. Shierlaw began her AFLW career with Carlton, playing 34 games in the red, white, and black for St Kilda, while White was drafted by the Saints in 2019 and represented the team 32 times since her debut in 2020.
