I would guess that all the testing they did last 2 years were part of a tight system required to allow them to travel through closed borders. AFL no longer requires that special permission but they should require regular testing to impede transmission among the players.
The radio mentioned daily tests - in relation to Carlton this weekend. Not sure if that is all clubs all the time or a club where there has been a positive case.
