OJ Simpson, the US sportsman who was acquitted of killing his ex-wife in one of the most dramatic trials of the 1990s, has died, his family says.

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer," Simpson's family posted on his X account.

"He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

"During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

Yeah the head of NBC was friends with OJ and told them to knock off the OJ jokes but Norm didn't care and just kept on doing them.

It cost him his job on SNL but it won him a lot of respect from other comedians, not many people would have the balls to do what he did.
