The Crows have selected Norwood speedster Anthony Wilson with their third and final pick (No.44) in the AFL Rookie Draft on Wednesday.
Wilson, 22, is regarded as the quickest player in the SANFL. The wingman/half-back moved to Norwood last year from the Port Adelaide Magpies, where he played underage and reserves. He started the 2014 season in the reserves for the Redlegs, but made his League debut on Anzac Day and played 16 games, including the Grand Final win against Port at Adelaide Oval.
Hamish Ogilvie, Adelaide National Recruiting Manager: "Anthony Wilson is probably the quickest player outside the AFL. He’s got some things he needs to fix, but there’s no one quicker and he’s had a terrific year with Norwood. He’s really improved and we’re sure we can get some more steep improvement out of him. We just don’t have that elite, high-end speed, so we’ve gone for ‘Willo’. He’s a good young man. He’s had to do it the hard way and I’m sure he’ll improve quickly when we get him here

Was impressed with the speed of Anthony Wilson in the semi final vs Eagles on Sunday. It was interesting that 2 ex-Crows listed players Wilson and Grigg, were the difference in the teams.
Another similar display in the Grand Final could see both players returning somewhere to the AFL.

I was standing next to Wilson’s father at the AO GF against North Adelaide. Where is Anthony this year..is he still at the Redlegs?
