Carlton will be beginning their 2014 NAB challenge against North Melbourne. The game will take place at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat. Nothing more of substance can be said without the team sheet right now but expect the game to be scrappy as both teams try to play competitive footy against a rival club for the first time in months. As we saw last night with both teams having over 400 disposals and 85+ tackles each you may not be seeing the most clean game of football. However it is footy and like most footy fanatics the period between the Ashes and AFL season is rather excruiating. So we take what we can get before our rd 1 clash against Port.

Personally I am hoping for no injuries this Saturday and the kids showing enough to push hard for our rd 1 team. I presume from hearsay that Docherty ( Patella), Henderson, Judd ( Achilles), Kreuzer ( ???) and Carazzo (???) will all be unavailable. Everitt may also be unlikely with a tight hamstring from some reports about the Gippsland community camp.

NORTH MELBOURNE
1. Daniel Currie, 2. Brad McKenzie, 3. Ryan Bastinac, 4. Liam Anthony, 5. Ben Jacobs, 6. Lachlan Hansen, 7. Jack Ziebell, 8. Daniel Wells, 10.Ben Cunnington. 11. Michael Firrito, 12. Lindsay Thomas, 15. Nick Dal Santo, 16. Scott Thompson, 18. Shaun Atley, 19. Sam Wright, 20. Drew Petrie, 21. Luke McDonald, 22. Todd Goldstein, 26. Taylor Hine, 28. Robin Nahas, 29. Brent Harvey, 32. Mason Wood, 33. Mitch Wilkins, 34. Jamie MacMillan, 35. Aaron Black, 36, Joel Tippett, 42. Scott McMahon, 43. Sam Gibson, 44. Max Warren

CARLTON

1. Andrew Walker, 2. Troy Menzel, 3. Marc Murphy, 4. Bryce Gibbs, 7. Dylan Buckley, 9, Kane Lucas, 10. Matthew Watson, 11. Rob Warnock, 12. Mitch Robinson, 13. Chris Yarran, 14. Brock McLean, 16. Patrick Cripps, 17. Sam Rowe, 18. Tom Temay, 21. Josh Bootsma, 26. Andrew McInnes, 28. Tom Bell, 30. Jarrad Waite, 31. Luke Reynolds, 32. Nick Graham, 33. Andrejs Everitt, 35. Ed Curnow. 36. Cameron Wood, 37. Jaryd Cachia, 39. Dale Thomas, 41. Levi Casboult, 42. Zach Tuohy, 45. Blaine Johnson, 46. David Ellard

Looking forward to seeing Tom Bell and Cripps in the same midfield and Thomas having his debut. North picking their best forwards while we have Hendo and Jamo out is going to make this very interesting.

I predict North by 20 points because they picked their best KPP's.

1. No Injuries
2. No Injuries
3. Graham to start in the middle
4. Menzel to play all game
5. Cripps, Temay & Reynolds to play
6. Everitt to play. Some concerns about him

I think North will field the stronger team on paper but we will have Robinson, Bell and Casboult taking no prisoners.

I'll start with a large no. 1, thanks, followed by a no. 2 for dessert.

Why the concerns on Everitt Harks?

Suppose most people from opposition clubs will be watching to see if Daisy gets selected although I think they will hold that off until our home game at Etihad for the membership drive.

Norf twitter saying squads out in half an hour.

You just know with Norf that they'll take in a strong squad.
All I really want to see from us is some of the kids get a chance and NO INJURIES.

We can build up for round 1 with our senior guys getting some game time against Adelaide and Bulldogs
