I used to like The Hardy Boys books as a kid. Matthew Reilly was after my time.
As long as they pay him for the rights I don't suppose he is worried whether they actually make the film or not.Hes had some of his books' film rights bought by companies but the movies never get made.
I'm a massive Matthew Reilly fan, even met him a few times and discussed writing. He says a few times in the interviews (back of the book, really interesting to read actually) that his writing style is that of a movie scene. So rather than paragraph by paragraph, chapter by chapter, he sets his books out as if you were watching a movie, with each "spurt" of text is a new scene...i don't mind his stuff, its just its clear he is aiming for a movie deal rather than writing a book
Is that a reaction to his writing or have you met him and found him disagreeable ?I hate his guts.
