Thought the juniors issues was the previous reason why Echunga were touted to be relegated again.

Is direct promotion and relegation a viable option?

I don't believe so. The gulf between Div 1 and 2 is huge. Div 2 clubs would be absolutely destroyed and many don't have the junior populations to field the necessary number of teams.

I'd like to see the HFL with 10 permanent teams in Division 1. I don't think Echunga can survive in Div 1- that would make 8 with room for a couple of Blackwood's neighbours to join.
