Kiwis are now 7/107, with Starc on a hat trick.

Starc has just gone past Dennis Lillee's total of 355 test wickets. Lillee's total used to be the world record, though it has since been surpassed many times over. Lillee's total would be significantly higher if the World Series Cricket Supertest wickets were included.

In a script we've all become far too familiar with, 8/109 has very quickly become 8/154.

Is there any chance of Australia's bowling cartel coming up with a decent plan for the tail enders, rather than focusing all of their attentions on the top order batsmen? Any chance of this happening, ever?

Here's a tip. Bowl at the stumps and set a field accordingly.

Smith out for 11, shouldering arms to a ball which would have clipped the stumps. How long can the selectors persevere with him as an opener? Probably a while, given that our next match isn't until November.

Aus 1/20

Shall we call it 2/20, given that the walking wicket (Labuschagne) is now at the crease?

3 for, but Labs is still in, maybe back in form?

Got to be careful with early calls

Latham & Williamson have got the kiwis back in this game. Carey dropping Latham could prove costly. Good game of cricket.

Meanwhile India look like smashing the Poms by an innings. Poms going all bazzball again at 4.5 per over... but what is the point when you are losing wickets frequently. Appears Stokes is cooked.

The Duckett dismissal was embarrassing. So was Bairstow chatting s**t, then getting out 4 balls later.

So Bairstow went better a run per ball in both innings... but what is the point if you can't get past 50.

Black Caps should win from here barring a monumental stuff up that involves Scott Kuggelein bowling for the majority of the innings, Australia have rarely shown any ability to chase down a 4th innings total near or over 250 even with stronger batting lineups than this one.

Australia like the Gabba test don’t deserve to win it either, allowing NZ to make 162 in the 1st innings after being 8/107, then top 7 bar Marnus’ all out due to poor shot selection or no footwork and now getting slogged around by Kuggelein of all people.
