looks like there has been a shift!

The buzz phrase now when talking about Port is "Financially Stricken"

Cash strapped seems to have been dropped

Yep. On MMM's 6am news it went pretty much like this-

"...and financially stricken Port have announced a two-year deal with Gordon Pickard while also inducting Brian Cunningham and Mike Sheahan into their Hall of Fame."

:eek:Sickening.

LOL!

The quality of media in this state truly is horrific.

Good to watch 7 news casually report the cows surplus without the need to mention their handout. In contrast when our profit was reported we had to watch our pres get on his knees, loosen his jaw and thank the $ANFL for giving us our money back. Eat a ####!!!

It was worse on 10.

Arseton, with his smarmy grin, "....and the Cows have announced a healthy profit, unlike the Power, who actually spend more money than they make..."

I wonder if that was on the auto-cue? Perhaps someone can tweet him and 10 news at the same time and ask.

Sorry TSW, nothing's changed it seems.

Fact of the matter is they should be at least the financial powerhouse West Coast is. But they're not even close to it and none of these hacks will ever question why.

@MattTarrant Mat please understand I do not write the stories Ian shuttleworth does, I simply read them, I know its frustrating.

As above.

Aiston dobbing Shuttzy in? Trouble in paradise?

Nothing that can't be sorted out over a slice of quiche and a strawberry dacquiri I'm sure.

Wonder who wears the frilly apron?

Shook my head at the contrasting angles the Craptiser and Age took on the Crows' financial returns for 2011. One reported solely the $300,000 surplus with nothing but a positive spin and no mention of handouts. The other ran with the title "Crows report $600,000 deficit".

Hmmmm:rolleyes:

Yeah it's amazing how the 1million dollar gift has been totally forgotten by our media.

Wouldn't want to hurt the cows/sanfl image now would we.

Wow - there's a suprise! I read the age online, but hadn't seen the local one. Reason no 1,648,328 to not read/watch/listen to the pathetic local media - it's embarrassing really.

How many years ago did the paper write the odd negative article putting fans into a spin? Then the paper realized the had to stop!

Re: The Fabulous Butcher Brothers

Capel drops to a new low..............

He denied he re-signed with Port at the end of the season on the proviso the club recruited Danny.

"Definitely not," John said.

To even hint at this is in very poor taste and absolutely disgraceful. Pity John Butcher didn't have a sharper tongue to hit back hard at the rodent.

Show the club and the Butcher boys some respect, you moron.

And who ever heard this alleged rumour before now?

This is something he's either dreamed up to give his story an 'edge' or he's been fed by acid-tongued haters who come up with this stuff to try and destabilise Port a little more.

He most likely did, but I doubt Capel would publish anything that would make himself look foolish, oh wait...

If this were even the case then surely we'd have taken him with our first pick in the Rookie Draft rather than run the risk of losing him to another club by waiting until pick 2.

Correct weight

Plus all other clubs knowing of this arrangement and playing ball

Quite possibly the finest example of the SA media's war on Port Adelaide yet.

The suggestion that John Butcher, in lieu of everything - Paul Connors, 3-19, go-home, our finances - would commit to a long-term contract on the proviso we draft his younger brother with what was ultimately a dregs pick is the stuff of the deranged pieces of furniture on Bay 13.

In one fell swoop John's character is impugned and a young kid is unfairly knocked - he did win an U18 B&F after all.

Amazed it got past the editors.

I wondered if that was where he might have found the idea. But I don't go there so who knows if it was even suggested in that snakepit?

No you're not. ;)

LOL....they are more than likely the douchebags that suggested the line. The standard of journalism has primarily dropped BECAUSE of these numbnuts.
