Has shown a lot more than both Scully and Trengove so far.

Yes, because everyone knows that how you play your first game determines the rest of your career....

(message to new recruits: play a brilliant game first up or you are clearly a waste of time)

NAB Cup: The pre-season competition deciding young players futures since Never.

disagree-Trengove's been a bit quiet although he's been clever while Scully's disposal is so fast the others are struggling to keep up. Both are more there to blend into the team rather than be flashy (ala Martin and Rich). They will stand out soon though.

Sigh, this thread was always going to happen though.

Re: Melbourne should've taken Martin

Considering all their "experimenting" last season, it will be only fair if their picks don't turn out to be great.

Re: Melbourne should've taken Martin

I would have gone for Trengove at 1 and Martin at 2. Scully will be a good player though.

Looks that way so far, but it is still very (very) early days. Everyone kind of knew though that he was ready made for AFL along with Morabito for Freo, so it was kind of expected. Lets at LEAST wait til the end of year to make such statements.

Re: Melbourne should've taken Martin

I doubt Scully or Trengove will be duds but it looks like Richmond might not have ****ed up utterly for once.

Oh god, this time we're judging draft picks after not actually playing a real game.:o

Re: Melbourne should've taken Martin

Martin was great last week, in watching the Dockers-Dees NAB Cup match it seems nothing has changed at Demonland over the Summer. Melbourne for wooden spoon 2010, sadly.

Would Dean Bailey survive another spoon? Surely some sign of improvement in that squad is expected now.

Martin and Morabito need as much conditioning as Scully and Trengove. Morabito has the least developed game of the lot.

True. I think Trengove will be very good though, not sold on Scully after seeing him tonight and in the Champs. Runs hard, racks it up but his disposal by foot is average. That's not what Richmond needed, doubt we would've picked him at #1 given we wanted elite kicks.

Who are the Dees missing today? Green and Bruce I think.
