Terry was just on 3AW.

Mentioned that Jackson is having his best pre season yet and is comfortably in the starting 18 at the moment.

Also said that Vickery is completely over his knee op and it is not effecting his preparation at all. Wallace said his speed is his greatest strength. Vickery will play in the NAB cup but maybe not the first game.

Wallace also said he has been "pleasantly, pleasantly surprised" by Hislop's dedication and commitment to his pre season. He commented that Hislop is very strong overhead and he is looking at him as a small forward option.

Nothing earth shattering was said but any news is good news at this time of year.

Some of the major points

* Schulz - seen as our 4th tall defender who can push off his man and use it well rebounding. A good kick.

* Caller asked about Cotchin and his lack of preseason? Terry said he's had an interrupted preseason but he's well ahead of where he was 12 months ago and he was able to do things during the off-season. Yeah he had an achillies on his other leg but the medicos say it's not a long term thing he'll stil have when he is 22. It's just his body adjusting.

* Lids - in junior footy could just beat guys on natural ability. It just took him a while to come to terms with the step up and workload required in AFL but he did that last year.

* Jack showed last year he's in our 22 although he knows he needs to step up more this year. Healy asked if Jack could play in the midfield? Terry said not yet as he doesn't yet have the endurance to play midfield and we need him more up forward for our structure.

* Cleve - best is AFL standard but he needs to do that on a week in week out basis.

* NAB Cup? Most guys up and running except for Cotch. We'll go 3/4 strength into NAB Cup as you are still testing young guys to see if they can play AFL yet. Senior guys will be slowly built up towards round 1 or used on or off to keep them fresh.

* Hislop - his work levels have pleasantly surprised Terry. Tremendous marking ability for a small so we'll use him up forward.

* Vickery - ruck/forward who will play in the NAB Cup at some stage. Speed is his strength at this stage.

* Jacko - came to the club as a super athlete but not much of a footy background. So it's taken time. He's a starter in our best 18 the way he is going now based on his work over this summer.

hislop sounds good in the forward line. strong over head, solid body, quick. i think our small forwards have been worked out. brown, morton, hislop and others rotating.

I don't think Hislop played particularily well in Round 9 last year against us. I'll definitely take the wait-and-see approach. Tho it seems that strong marking mid-fielders that "rest" in the forward line are becoming more important to to the Tiges. (Ala Deledio, and Richo in reverse)

Stop swallowing the doctor's spin and get a clue for once on yor life, sante. The guy in your avatar would be a better player than "Hackson Jackson"...

Yet we'd both still outplay Hackson. Seriously, deluded fools like you and madturd crack me up the way you overrate any godawful hack who pulls on a Tigers jumper as if it automatically grants them superpowers. It's sad , embarrassing but also quite funny all at the same time. In Fact the only thing that is funnier is the way you still believe Wallace's crap after all these years of failure and backtracking...I'd love to have you for a boss...I could just not bother to turn up for 4 years and probably still get a raise...

The same crap that wallace has been spinning has built our list from the ground up.

The List is at it's healthiest that I have seen since 1982. Twits like you will change your name and quickly get on board under a new username soon enough.

Negative W^%KERS

Look,I can't be arsed arguing with this brick pile....think it's hilarious how you all pretend every Wallace "revised assessment" after we **** up another year is the gospel that he spoke from the beginning, when you all know it isn't. Even David Irving would cringe at some of the revisionist bollocks that get's spouted around here.

Bottom line is.... proactive coaching wins premierships and brings sustained success, reactive coaching doesn't. Wallace is a reactive coach.

:)So you'll judge him on that one game!!! Probably half a dozen Tigers guys weren't so good in that game too, but do we judge them? Ridiculous thinking!!! Hislop will be a regular for us...guaranteed!!!

We'll see. Jackson's going to have a breakout year.

Speedwagon, why dont you find some other team to follow. Seriously you are an absolute joke. Shambolic, mis-informed, spiteful, pointless, moronic vitriol (by the way before you have to look it up Mario, this is what vitriol means Vitriol n -Bitterly abusive feeling or expression), garbage post after garbage post.

What are you judging Wallace on? With these players we won eight of our last eleven games last year - fact.

We have an exciting young team

We have coughlan & cousins bolstering the mid-field depth lets hope they get and stay fit.

We have given cousins a 2nd chance at AFL which has created excitement, anticipation and pride not seen in years

membership is up

we are on the verge of signing a 2nd major sponsor

we have commenced construction of out new facilities at punt road and craigieburn.

New Sponsor about to be signed.

I have questioned how gary march is running things off field in the past - but when you run line over the club there is a hell of a lot of positives at the moment.

So whats wrong? guys like you who have no idea about the game of football sounding off because they want things to go bad just so you can say "i told you so" and build your own ego. wallace will eventually go, every coach does at some point. Just dont post on here "I told you so" like you know whats going on.

Good morning gents

I've got to say I'm excited by the direction the Tiges are taking and looking forward to an improvement on field performance in 09. I think TW is on the right track BUT the last half of 08 was not as good as people are making out. The reality is that other than the HAwthorn game which was impressive. The Tiges were either smashed (Geelong and Adelaide) very close and maybe a bit lucky to win (essendon, Brisbane, freo, port adel) or against teams that had a high motivation to lose (West Coast, Melbourne x 2).

It was great to see us win a couple of close games for a change but 08 could have been a lot worse than it looks on paper and we need to improve a lot to be a finals contender.

close to the most narrow minded short sighted view of assesing the merit of a footy team Ive ever seen....How did you rate thompson after 6 failed seasons or Clarkson after winning a handful of games, qualifying for further concessions after his first two years...The're not coaching a ****en tennis player partner, its about developing 40 ****en players into a unit...History tells us this takes time...FOOLS tell us otherwise:eek:

True. Terry Wallace's win/lose ratio is pathetic and he's trading/drafting record is even worse. Add that with the massive contract he was given and it makes it all the more embarrassing. But what tops it off is how every year he somehow convinces people he's good.
