Alright, here's the goss from the Morrish Medal night. Matt Kreuzer won the double with the Morrish Medal and the Coaches Award. Adrian Totino was runner-up in the Morrish. ;)

TAC Cup Team Of The Year
B: Farmer (Calder) Hurley (Northern) Kay (Gippsland)
HB: Ward (Western) Kangars (Geelong) Cheney (North Ballarat)
C: Hall (Gippsland) Polkinghorne (Calder) Arrowsmith (Calder)
HF: S.Simpson (Dandy) McEvoy (Murray) Otten (Oakleigh)
F: Renton (Eastern) Bongetti (Northern) Banner (Western)
R: Kreuzer (Northern) Grimes (Northern) Suban (North Ballarat)
INT: Shaw (Sandringham) Nye (Eastern) Barham (Geelong) Ford (Bendigo)

No real complaints other than not be aware that over-age guys Shaw and Barham were elligable.

Murray's late run of form and flag favouritism (?) got missed with only McEvoy in. I might have had Thompson ahead of Kangars and Morgan before Barham.

Nice to see Kris Nye remembered.

Kreuzer becomes the first to do the Coach/Morrish double since Brad Smith (midget rover) did it in the very first year of the comp.

Well done to Matt Kreuzer on winning that double. That'll feed the media frenzy even more.

Weaver, McGuiness made it into the Team of the Year last year as an U19. Thats a pretty good side. There will always be a few who were stiff not to get a look in, and a couple lucky to make it. Well done to those who did.

Does it surprise that they had three ruckmen in the team? All 12 teams represented. Intentional? I'd say so.

hulld's man took mine and HBF's guys spot. ;)

Only played about five games because he had private school commitments. He was good whenever I saw him play TAC though. :p

Kris Nye, 12 notes in his first 11 games before falling to injury, he still held on for 4th. What might have been! Great to see him recognised with a team of the Year position.

Naturally I do not get to see these games, however it sounds a little odd that the runner up, Adrian Totino, didn't get in the team?

The Morrish medal carries little weight. It is typically an award for the rover that most stands out (visibly). Normally goes to the Fijian kid, or the kid with a fro, or one that is immediately recognisable. There have been some very iffy winners of it in the past.

Went along to the mourish last night and couldn't help but notice Michael Todd from Gippsland being the early leader before going down with an ACL.. I know that the count doesn't mean a whole of a lot, but surely i would rate him as one of the best in and under players in the comp. What is his chances of maybe being rookie listed?

So what is Totino?

Fijian or has a fro, or is from Mars, or has a 3rd leg?

Gun rover from the Knights. Has the skill to make it in the AFL, just not the height. IIRC, he's only about 172cm, and that just makes him too short for the AFL. Even to be rookied. :(

Interesting to see the order of ruck prospects .... ie no Dawson Simpson with Shaw preferred behind Kruezer and Renton. Still see McEvoy more KP.

im pretty sure he is goin to be a under 19 player for power next year.. ill ask him when i see him next.. No one will go near him untill he proves he can play as good as he was before his knee reco
i've seen him play a couple of times and he is very impressive. one of them blokes who always seems to have the ball on a string. hope he can get back next year and impress some recruiters.
