Latest info is that 4 clubs are chasing Shane Tuck, maybe they see him as a hard at it midfielder in the middle, Essendon interest has only just emerged from last 2 or so days with Johnson and Solomon gone, Melbourne chasing hard for Johnson but will look at Tuck seriously if they fail on Johnson, Blues are contemplating Tuck as a big midfielder that can protect Murphy and maybe Gibbs and take the innitial brunt so there young kids dont get knocked about and the Roos are still sniffing around Tuck and Krak but I dont understand why unless they reckon they can do something with a Perry but Tuck would cost Perry and a pick in the 20s maybe.

Didn't know Tuck would be available for trade. I thought Richmond rated him very highly. A good player who I would love to have at Melbourne. Tough, no nonsense midfielder who can find the ball and is still fairlyyoung.

In saying that, I don't know if you are talking crap but I can't see Richmond letting him go.

I suppose all the clubs have realised you gotta give something good to get something of value. And these 4 clubs have interest in Tuck from what I heard last night.

He is out of contract isn't he? He was offered 1 year with minimal payment? Or was that his last contract?

he doesnt fit in with terry's style of play and they dont see eye to eye either

if we can get a defender or maybe a pick 20 for him id take it in a heartbeat

i dont understand why people think that you need to trade your duds, tuck is a good player but we have to fill other needs asap

I'd get rid of Coughlan before Tuck if I was Wallace.

At least Tuck doesn't break down as frequently as a Leyland P76.

If Tuck was offered, I'd pounce. Damaging midfielder who can shoulder some of the tough stuff, but wouldnt come cheap, and I'd be surprised if the Tigers were prepared to let him go. Probably only be able to offer pick 19 for him, so I doubt we could get him, but he certainly would be useful.

What is that? Wallet doesn't like ball winning midfielders?

Wouldn't think that was likely. Tarrant and Thornton aren't being considered as first round picks so i doubt Tuck is? Tuck would be a player swap with possibly a 3rd or 4th round pick thown in.

Our club said they doun't expect to be involve in anything major in the trade week, Tuck would probably be something major. :p

If Tigers really want our key position defender then perhaps they will be part of a deal but I am not really convinced we will be trading Perry.

I doubt we would go with Krak, not very consistant and he has barely survived being de-listed by the tigers a number of time and probably wont have a spot in the Tiger's team in a year or two. Hardly inspiring to trade a promising young key position defender for someone like that.

I also dont think our first or second draft picks are going to be traded. We have a very good early second round pick and it has some serious value given how strong this draft is. With so many high quality KPPs up for trade this year I think some very good midfielders will be picked up in the second round.

That's not bad, but Carlton won't be releasing Thornton and pick 17 for Tuck. If you scrap pick 17 to Richmond, we may be able to give you Simon Taylor as a backup ruckman to Simmonds. Effectively;

Gains:
Hawthorn: Thornton, pick 26.
Richmond: Taylor/Young, pick 24.
Carlton: Tuck.

Losses:
Hawthorn: Taylor/Young, pick 24.
Richmond: Tuck, pick 26.
Carlton: Thornton.

Rich:
Gain:Picks 17 & 35
Lose:Tuck & 26

Hawks:
Gain:Thorton
Lose:Pick 24

Carl:
Gain:Tuck & Picks 24 & 26
Lose:Thorton & Picks 17 & 33

It would be more like Thornton for Tuck as a straight swap and we will all forget about Hawthorn. Richmond probably come out with the lesser of the two but a key defender is despirately needed. To be honest i hope tuck is a tiger for 2007 and beyond and if he goes would want alot back for him.

Yep. Tiger of old's deal is probably a marginally better deal for us but I'd rather Thornton go to the Tigers then to the Hawks so I'd take Tuck for him, but only if the Hawks attempt to screw us and not offer us something of value like Pick 6 or Jordan Lewis.

That could work.

On the face of it, it seems like Tuck for pick 17, not sure he is worth that this year.

I'd be hoping Pelchen could do better for us than spend pick 24 for Thornton (probably dreaming, but hey).
I have a feeling whatever we get for Everitt *fingers crossed* will be involved in a Thornton trade.

so hawks are screwing you by NOT offering pick 6 or jordan lewis for thornton? gold:thumbsu: if we lost pick 6 or lewis for thornton, hawks would be clear losers of the deal
