Why do my opinions constantly trouble opposition supporters?

Apologies for the self indulgence folks, but I just don't get it!

Why do I always seem to get an extreme kind of reaction from people? I only seek to give my no bull view on a certain matter, nothing more or less.

Am I too crass compared for the average supposedly mature adult? Do I not take in to account the emotional fragility of the average human being?

Do I resonate uncomfortable truths in some rare way?

Help me out here.

The man don't like being told how it is by a brotha that is articulate and learned.

They rather we just sit sipping our po'boys accumulating priority picks.
 
It depends on the topic but with footy it is rarely black and white, there are shades of grey and people form opinions that they wish to express and often do not want to be convinced that their opinion is wrong, even if they are wrong.

Depending on how you go about it then it can come off as confrontational, especially 'if' you make personal attacks or insult the person for having a different opinion. I sometimes insult opposition supporters because the bile they come up with is not worthy of a reasonable response but generally it isn't worth the effort.

For normal people, you just have to accept that some people have a different look on things and while you might think they are wrong, there is no absolute in footy other than results. Even stats can paint a very misleading picture or distort reality depending on which stats you look at or you ignore things that stats do not capture.

Because you let your North bias interfere with reality in a rather extreme way.

If I am so biased then why do I get such an extreme reaction?

I mean, if someone told me it was raining 100 dollar bills, I wouldn't spend the next hour chastising them, I would just ignore them.

Could it be that I make you uncomfortable because I cause you to confront YOUR prejudices?

I think so.

I really have no idea why you started this thread if you think you know why you annoy opposition supporters.

The fact of the matter is you don't make me confront my prejudices, I don't need to in order to know that more than 4 players from Essendon would make a combined Essendon-North side in 18 months.

Its your inability to observe free of prejudice that causes opposition frustration, not opposition prejudices.

You really are a very, very limited football team, I believe you have very little in the way of upside and I believe your opinions are skewed by scraping in to the finals when the competition was the most lop sided I have ever seen..

Gumbleton unfortunately bombed out, I have seen nothing startling in Myers, Pears or Carlisle, and you have serious midfield limitations.

I honestly believe that there are 5 sides below Essendon that will overtake them in the next 24 months, unless Hird manages to wallpaper over some very obvious cracks via some immaculate trading.

Why do these supposed "prejudices" resonate so strongly with you?
 
Your previous lives on BF under other names have set the foundations I'm afraid. A very leveled poster who provides great content for this board and insightful opinions elsewhere, however some people just can't help but think of the negative stuff.
 
A few suggestions as to why they annoy a North Melbourne supporter:

1. you seem to think you are infallible like the pope
2. you are embarrassingly one-eyed
3. you don't understand that your views are only one of many and every body else is entitled to their view

This is interesting, because a quick search of your 58 posts over the last 3 years highlights an incredibly negative outlook towards our club.

Why would you automatically assume that I could learn something from you? Do I have to assume that all replies are 100% productive, or am I allowed to evaluate the source and content?

I agree with everyone else, your posts generally aren't worth reading - they are ridiculously one eyed at all times...
