I heard this morning on SEN that Tambling is more or less a done deal to the Gold Coast.

Can anyone shed anymore light on the situation?

And what are your thoughts on this move? Will we get a second band compensatory pick?

NO WAY : if tambling was going he would of been anounced already along with bock & krakour.

bling will stay................... lets hope mcmuffin goes there

GC has cash to burn all over the shop. McMahon hasn't played a game for us all season. The only one on our list not to do so, in a team finishing 15th with the worst % in the league. They'll need big bodies to help the kids, and have the cash to start some serious conversations many unucontracted players on every list.

You seriously think they'll even hold a discussion over McMahon???

In a different role in a new environment, Tambling may flourish. He's always had talent, just hasn't shown it on a consistent basis yet.

I still think we need him. It was better him having a down year this year when the season was meaningless than the next few years when we are pushing for the 8 and very few spots will be left up for grabs.

I like Tambling but i would be majorly pissed off if he left the club after we have stuck by him for years and even made a Indegenous centre due to him being at the club. For that point alone you would think he would stay at the club.

You sure that wasn't Vickery that was mentioned?

Tambling re-signed for 2 more years so GC can't grab him as an uncontracted player.

Link? Internet rumours don't count by the way. ;)

I'd like to see him tried as our small crumbing forward this year.
I doubt he is going.
If he did, it would be interesting to see what compensation we would get and when we would use that pick.

Small forward...why? Because he's indigenous? :D

Being sent up back according to DH. Looks like it's his last chance. Personally don't think Tambling would be a loss. Doubt he will ever be able to perform or at least perform consistently. He's had a hell of a lot of chances over his career, just lucky he was pick #4 not #60 or else I'd doubt he would still be around.

Regardless, think we already stated we've signed up all our quality players so if we lose anyone it won't be a big deal.

I heard a mention of this on SEN also this morning. All I heard was his name briefly mentioned as a possible RFC player linked to GC. It was in response in someone asking if any out of contract RFC players were likely to be targeted by GC. The answer given was very unconvincing, wasn't even enough in it to call it a rumour.

lol
Pretty much because he has been tried everywhere else. And it's a gaping hole in our side that needs addressing. Last chance saloon for Richie T.

So if Tambling is contracted what are GC offering for him?

We'd only trade him if he was stuffed you'd reckon. Otherwise he has more upside than what we could get for him in a trade. Doesn't make any sense.

I thought we tried him forward already....he's certainly kicked enough behinds in the last two years...

Wallace shoud've just left him at HBF after that first Subiaco game back in '08 ..he found his spot for him, then inexplicably continued fart arseing around and moving him here, there & everywhere... Richie needs space....congestion is not his friend...it's like expecting Shaun Tait to send down thunderbolts with Shane Warne's run-up...

Bling & O'Reilly or Moore @HBF....Connors & Lids back in the middle....:thumbsu:

i think it prudent we give tambling next yr just to confirm one way or the other weather 09 eas a fluke.
if hes been trying to play with hip injury etc he has legit reasons why his form dipped.although unlike many i dont believe his form even in 09 was anything great.

there could be a price to pay by not offereing him up for trade. he does have some value atm but if an injury free 7th yr tambling struggles again we will get nothing.

for a small player 7 yrs is an inordinate amount of time to wait for a player to establish himself.
most smalls will have clicked by 2 or 3 yrs and certainly established their bonafides by 4.

tambling it seems is a hard decision ironically something this club has regularly failed to do make a hard decision. somethings dont change it seems.

Sick of the Tambling bashes big time. Massive broken record.

09 he proved he could play. Very good season off the back flank/wing. That's two positions he proved he can play which makes two more than the zero that a few of you claim.

Also Mark Murphy had one hip done last offseason and wasn't able to play his best footy until the end of this season. Tambling's two might prevent him from playing at his best for some time yet. Yet wouldn't understand many of you Tambling bashers to understand the effects surgery has on playing footy...

And I'm sick of people constantly defending him on the back of one good season. Might as well try to off load him while he still might have some currency. He has been in the system for a long time now and has only played a handful of good games. I doubt Hardwick is going to trade him anyway but I sure hope he shows something next year.

Will be interesting to hear people defending him again next year if he has another average season.
