Wow, amazing that we're getting pumped at HT with that many listed players playing. Probably says more about the quality of those listed players than anything.
Or says more about the quality of the Seagulls than Coburg Tigers. I daresay Williamstown have just as many Bulldogs AFL listed players in their team as we have Richmond listed players.

actually had more to do with the wind than anything else

3/4 time:
willy 13.9
coburg 5.9

had plenty of ball in our F50 just could not convert also kicked 3 OOF

Geez things look bleak for the RFC when a team with that much expierence to be belted.

White, Rance, Polak, Polo, Tuck, Collins all playing. Thats plenty of AFL expirence

left at half time due 2 working commitments.. very dissapointed nothing to get exceited about at all all richmond players seemed as though they were not interested ,, especially graham he was getting beaten by cordy and roughead,, dae tried hard ,, the rest not worth mentioning,, hope it got better after half time

RFC bloody hell. Gold Coast and Sydney will fly past us, with their draft concessions. We have as every outside supporter can recognize the worst list in the league.

Thank god Cotchin stayed with us and signed for another couple years!

You guys are a hoot. You've got the decision making of Rance, White, Tuck, Graham on display and the ineffectiveness of some one like Mcmahon and you are surprised by the scores. When a quarter of your team cant use the ball you're in trouble no matter what level you are playing.

It's a VFL practice match.

a praccy match that was still several senior players only chance of trying to win a spot in the seniors

very disappointing performance from the sounds of things:thumbsdown:

Considering we just got rid of 14 players - several who are now playing good senior footy somewhere else - pretty disappointing effort from the blokes who were kept on to put in that sort of rubbish

I'll wait and hear match reports. The scoreline means absolutely zero. We just want to hear that there were some good individual performances.

Just got back and lets just say this, its going to be a long year for Coburg as well of today is anything to go by.

We got smacked by Willy despite us fighting it out in the last quarter. The score at the end was 15.10 to 7.12 and we could have been closer except about 5 shots that failed to make the distance from inside 50. The only reason we got that many chances is Willy had put the cue in the rack and were just going through the motions while we kept our foot down.

Player reviews:

Astbury - quiet probably had it about 6 times and failed to kick a goal. Picked up a knock in the last quarter.
Browne - for those of you who were suggesting we play him of Vickery, be thankful we're not. He was outplayed by Cordy and Roughead rather easily.
Collins - started on the pine and didn't really have much impact until after half time. Kicked a goal and had a chance to kick another 2 in the last but missed badly both times.
Dea - tried hard but was outmatched at FB (more on that soon). Showed courage on a few occassions running back with the flight of the ball.
Gourdis - was well beaten at FB. Little for Willy had 3-4 in the 1st quarter and probably kicked 7 for the match. Gave away a few free kicks which were puzzling which didn't help his cause but well down on the form shown in the NAB Cup.
Graham - like Browne was well beaten by a couple of rookies. The only positive for him today was when he cleaned up Cordy in a fair contest, if he could show that sort of animal instinct more often it would serve him well, but more often than not its a case of built like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
McMahon - usual McMahon game, when he had time and space looked ok with the ball, when he had to put physical pressure on made a token effort. Had to laugh when he was involved in a bit of push and shove in the last, then nearly wet myself when he failed to make the distance from 35m out a few minutes later.
Polak - Took quite a few grabs under pressure and should have kicked 5.2 but ended up with 2.5. Presented well allday and would be in with a chance of playing next week based on today.
Rance - played up forward all day and looked ok. Played a lead up role and kicked a nice goal in the first after roving the pack in the square. Still has the occassional moment when he looks like a deer in the headlights, but overall was much better than his NAB game on Franklin.
Tuck - seems like they are trying to teach him about responsibility as they left him on the HBF all day, still got hold of the ball but a few times was caught out going for the ball while his opponent slid out the back.
White - rrobably our best Tiger today alongside Polak. Ran hard all day and I only saw one occassion where he got caught with the ball but that had more to do with no movement up the ground than him having no awareness.
Webberley - started out slowly and struggled to get into the game. Picked it up after halftime and got plenty of touches coming off the wing.

I remember saying that Polo was playing but for the life of me I don't recall seeing him out there, they may have held him back for tomorrow just in case there is a late change. Was also good to see Hardwick, Campbell, Taylor, Cotchin, Nason and a few others there watching.

Tuck off half back is also interesting, I like the idea !!
I don't really like it, doesn't have the pace to play on the small nippy HF and isn't big enough to play on the gorilla KPF. Today he had to mind a small to start off and looked lost at time, then a couple of times he was forced to stand guys like Cordy and Roughead who both towered over him again he just looked really uncomfortable. Like I said, it appears that its just a ploy to teach him about being responsible for an opponent rather than just going and getting your own footy.

The bloke at FF for Willy (Matt Little) was way too fast and had the ball delivered on a plate early on which saw Gourdis moved and Dea replace him and the same happened to Dea, the difference was Dea got a bit more of a chop out that Gourdis did. As mentioned in the Gourdis review he got killed by a couple of dodgy decisions which didn't exactly help.

Thanks for the report RT. For as long as i can recall Williamstown Oval has been a shocker for opposing teams. Intricate knowledge of the wind is a huge advantage. Next week the VFL real deal begins and we have North Ballarat at Coburg! That will be a real test and a decent guide as to who is ready to step up. Gourdis and Dea both have a bit of pace so them getting easily beat on the lead is a surprise. Maybe should have been playing in front, especially when Willy were against the wind.

Dea - tried hard but was outmatched at FB (more on that soon). Showed courage on a few occassions running back with the flight of the ball.
Gourdis - was well beaten at FB. Little for Willy had 3-4 in the 1st quarter and probably kicked 7 for the match. Gave away a few free kicks which were puzzling which didn't help his cause but well down on the form shown in the NAB Cup.

couple of classic examples of players being played out of position, Gourdis comes to the club as 100+ goalkicking ace in colts so we put him down at FB due to our forward line riches spilling over:eek:

Dea, I'll let them off the hook there as probably part of his apprenticeship to learn how to really contest when left one on one
