Probably the same reason there isn't as much attention on the Weitering head knock in a marking contest to Amiss, or the called back advantage when Aish kicked long to a wide open Tabs.
The reason this is a hot topic is because it directly in your face cost us the game.
That's like me saying "We know what happens when Fremantle and Geelong meet in finals."
What a moronic thing to say. You can only ever beat who is in front of you and if he thinks one ARC decision was the reason they lost then he's got no hope. Clearly just pandering to the nuffie supporters...
I agree with this. While the start to the season has been really good there are teams, those listed, that have more finals experience than us and it would take a miracle for us to win it all this year.
Look at the age spread and even adding Tabs/Fyfe/Darcy in still shows you how young this...
First our real test was the Eagles, then it was GWS, then it was Carlton and then Geelong and now our "real test" is Melbourne then it'll be Brisbane, Sydney and so on.
Our tests change every week it seems.
I wouldn't worry too much, you'll figure at the pointy end of the season again for sure. That game was a taste of the finals, pressure immense by both sides.
Final Siren
I love this idea but I'm also curious as to if it could be turned into a game (Think Football Manager) where you can control a teams players their ratings and then pit them against other teams and have the simulation determine the result.
Does the sim rely on overall team ratings...
I think it was the wrong tactic and we were extremely lucky to win. I could understand the tactic if you then played Lobb permanent forward but the fact that all 3 were rotating through and at points we had Sandi as the lone forward trying to chase Allir and other smalls to defend, yeah not...
Well its a combination isn't it, around the contest blocking for Fyfe when he needs it, winning the ball so we're not relying on him all the time which means he can rest forward/bench. I'm not saying go and belt blokes but you do need to be physically strong around the ground otherwise we'll...
The important part there is "We'd like him to get looked after more, We'll probably have to take it into our own hands." I interpret that as actually being strong around the contest and protecting Fyfe from other plays targeting him. Does that mean illegally bashing blokes, no. Does that mean...
Did you actually bother to look at what he said during the conference post match or are you just having a shot at him based off an article with words like "threaten" and "suck it up princes" "deflect from the loss"?? Do you not bother to research a little or just follow whatever some rag says...
Yeah we weren't middle of the road and probably maybe only just showing glimpses of that this year. That 4 win year was the biggest miscalculation by the coach and list manager on where they thought the club would/should be in our history. It's what forced us to rebuild the list and it couldn't...
While I agree it wasn't the best move towards trying to win the game Darcy was sore and needed a rest and Lobb coming back from injury wasn't ready for sole ruck. Lyon already said that Sandi wont travel to Tassie and Darcy will come back in after the rest.
Yeah nah we're not winning down in...
Plenty of room down the far end for another Stand to bump it up.
I'd be more than happy for a team like Geelong to be able to play their finals at home. That's what we want, a truly national competition.
Let's call it even then. We were without our #1 KPD, our #1 Ruck, our #1 and #2 Forward due to injury. Carlton outplayed us sure but both teams had to deal with injuries to key players, it wasn't just Carlton.
So send them to Freo. I'm not part of the board and have no way to choose the Fremantle coach. Still not sure what this has to do with what you quoted of mine. But anyway.
While we are missing Lobb, Hogan, Taberner, S.Hill and even Sandi who would be ahead of Darcy. Yeah I think one midfielder isn't as important as all those listed players. Nice attempt at a troll though champ.
Not only all their top draft picks but they're more experienced by by quite a margin (77 to 93 game avg) and older on the whole. Had 5 150+ gamers playing.
We're a young team on the upward trend in our 3rd year of a rebuild. How many years have Carlton been building for and this is only their...
I was right, the injuries certainly didn't help but it didn't seem that we were really on all game. Shame to lose Hogan and Hill but it's a learning experience for our young side, can't just turn up to the big games. We have to be prepared even against the minnows.
Yeah I have a feeling we'll drop this weekends game against Melbourne. Nothing other than a gut feel that this is the type of game against a beatable opposition that we lose (Gold Coast, Essendon already this year)
For me it would be Pav's last game, round 23 2016 against the eventual Premiers the dogs. https://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2016/23/fre-v-wb
Lots of emotion and a passing of the torch kind of moment with where the club was headed.
