The ten wins in a row over the Roos make me shiver at the thought of the scary shin boners.

Fixture Full 2024 AFL fixture released. News and leaks.

Americans already know what rugby is and upon seeing the NRL will go "oh, rugby". That's the awareness they are getting for the cash they're spending to do this.

Fixture Full 2024 AFL fixture released. News and leaks.

The AFL's obsession with the floating fixture is hilarious. That round 24 Essendon vs Collingwood game was scheduled on a friday night and what a thriller it was.

Opinion Has the MCG become a homogeneous ground ?

If it's weird to want an open stadium where you're not boxed in by concrete, I'm weird.

Opinion Has the MCG become a homogeneous ground ?

I'm focusing on the football at Adelaide Oval too but it makes for a better live experience not being locked into a concrete bowl.

Opinion Has the MCG become a homogeneous ground ?

Both the MCG and Docklands are too closed in. MCG feels like a concrete coliseum and Docklands feels like a concrete tent. MCG needs views of the city and the surrounding park, while Docklands needs natural light and views of the harbour. Neither are ideal for fan experience as presently...

Fixture AFL Season 2023 Full Fixture

Most clubs care only about their members but aren't afforded the right to lock out most of the away club members. That's not even how this competition works for 17 teams. You're talking about Windy Hill 30 years ago? Geelong are doing it in 2023 and no other team does. You say the games aren't...

Fixture AFL Season 2023 Full Fixture

My point is that Geelong are in an annoyingly unique position where they can lock opposition fans out of their home ground in large numbers.

Fair is fair. Yes you can come, Cats fans. But only 5,000 of you. Sorry! Exactly what they do to other teams.

Fixture 2023 Fixture News & Leaks : Round 1 Released, see OP

Did Adelaide actually agree to play in Ballarat every year or did the AFL just say "that worked, repeat" ?

Fixture 2023 Fixture News & Leaks : Round 1 Released, see OP

When the AFL release the next part of the floating fixture so late that people have work shifts, party events and local sport all pencilled in before the AFL come out with theirs, I end up heading to the footy alone. Terrible.

The AFL absolutely deserve to have their fixture leaked for being absolute dick teasers for weeks.

Fixture 2023 Fixture News & Leaks : Round 1 Released, see OP

Have you been to AO already though? I've got a suburban ground within walking distance here at home so I don't need to drive 7 hours to see one. Adelaide Oval is a bucket list item for me. Norwood would've locked out a lot of Essendon supporters from going. The AFL must not be expecting Brisbane...

AO is the entire attraction to make it worth the trip. Wouldn't be driving 7 hours for a game in the Barossa or whoop whoop and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Fixture Gather Round - SA announced as host for next 3 years 2024-2026

The issue is Richmond and Essendon play in round 8 or 9 so having them play in round 5 is too short of a turn around to play again.

School holidays. The AFL rarely think about this when they schedule teams to play interstate on Friday night and Sunday twilight. Driving and camping is also a more affordable option and it's more doable when it's in school holidays.
