Dermot mentioned him needing to run little figure 8s to stop defenders pushing him under the ball or bulk up. I guess those figure 8 leads are what Dermot is talking about. I can't remember if it was Rooey or Dermot that said there is a massive difference in VFL to AFL and I think which ever it...
Dermot on SEN didn't seem too keen to hype him up. Said he has a long reach and will mark too high for most defenders like Daniher. Said he'll need tricks so they don't body work him under the ball. Was all over Parker though, reckons he can get him up to 16 possessions and 3 goals a week. If he...
Not a clear number one at all. The consensus seemed to be that Lukosius was the number one, Walsh, Rankine, King etc all in the mix for top 5. In their under 17s year the King twins and the South Aussies were meant to be better than anything in the 2018 draft.
That's why losing Stuv is the double, you lose a gun but also get attention turned to others, Jack Stuv could motor way from trouble, Jack Billings struggles a bit more with attention because he's never had it.
Yeah, Paddy is the bet bloke at the club as far as engaging with fans and being an awesome person. If we get two great guys that can't really translate that into on field awesomeness the fans will los their s**t pretty quickly. He has to be another Kosi at least or I don't think the recruiters...
If on the piss means getting munted on $50 foils from Footscray station. A night out with Libba and he'll have a hand made mohawk, neck tatt and a shaved eye brow. 3 Halal Snack Packs by the next morning and gone full feral.
I reckon he could take Luke Dustan's spot in the midfield if fit and would be great smokey. I reckon Jack Billings could be another good forward, he should be set for a big year and if they have Acres as a forward should get more mid time and increase numbers dramatically.
Dunstall was 188cm and like a cannon ball, he genuinely would have struggled to find a team to give him a go these days but once he showed what he could do he would still have made it. He was a freak. There are always undersized players who make the most of their position despite size. Members...
I reckon we need to move JWebb to a wing this year maybe Rooey is holding that up for him though. Savage, Robbo, Gears and Montagna are a pretty fair haul of smallish backs and with Brown in too it pushes Dempster onto another mid sized forward. I can see him struggling to win a place in the...
Dunstal, Gary Ablett senior, Fev, Modra, Brad Johnson, Capper all played a key forward role as undersized players too. I think all were under 190cm and when they say the era was not as tall SOS at 194, Glen Jackovich 193, Shannahan 194, Penny 194 for example would have towered over all of them.
That's true to a point but I reck 193 to 196 is about the perfect size to keep mobility and still be able to win the aerial ball. The guys who get much over that are good as ruck forwards but true KPFs seem to work best in that range. There are always freaks who break the mould but they are rare.
I watched him in the all stars game and saw some highlights of the allies vic country match and he looked easily the best KPF in both games. Even when he's not kicking goals he looks like he's dangerous. It's really hard to see why he wasn't a top 10 pick IMO. Big forwards are hard to find and...
