All the GWS fans at the start of the thread were shaking this off, insisting that he is contracted and staying, and then calling anyone saying otherwise a goose. With the cap squeeze at the Giants he was always a chance to go.
If Shiel is leaving, it looks to be Hawthorn or Essendon. It's a 50/50 chance that Tom Browne will nail this if Shiel does leave. So he takes his shot. Shiel goes to Hawthorn; his reputation is glowing and he is a go-to man for inside scoops. If he goes to Essendon; everyone will forget about it...
Are you suggesting I shot down the rumour because it is pro-Hawthorn? You assumed because I follow Essendon I must be biased, oh my. I don't think fans (of either team) should buy into these rumours being spread by journos who are shooting their shot trying to make a name for themselves. All I...
LOL - I am sure I know why a Hawks fan would read into it as a passage from a holy source. He said just the other day that Hawthorn is the front-runner. Repeating it using different words does not make it a different message.
Tom Browne reported earlier in the week that he reckons Hawthorn are now the favourites. He then drops it casually on air again and people have taken it far too seriously.
Dogs fans then; "oh he is staying, it's merely a ploy from Bevo to make him play harder".
Dogs fans now; "oh it will be good to see the back of him".
:D
Not entirely correct. I said he was being squeezed out of the 22. I never said he currently was not a best 22 player. A lot of my posts including some from others who I was responding to were deleted by other parties so I redacted mine as they were suddenly forced out of context.
I'm not sure you've quoted the correct post there. All you've said is that he was given more opportunity (two whole years of it) by Melbourne which proves one of my points.
Absolutely. A clear mindset being one of those.
The way I see Essendon at the moment is in rebuild mode. Hartley has been discovered this year, Gleeson will be great once he bulks up, Hurley also returns and Francis will be something special as long as he gets his body right. All of these...
North look like they're heading down, so it's interesting that the Hawks are in the conversation considering they are too. Thought St Kilda or Melbourne would've got a mention along with Essendon.
Because you don't want the worst for Essendon doesn't mean that others don't.
Having all the players on board is standard, they're the AFLPA. How does that translate to having power over issues relating to Hurley?
You have to have your head in the sand. Not only for thinking that people don't crave for Essendon to be damaged but for thinking the AFLPA are of any power.
I couldn't tell if your post was sarcastic or not, we really need a font for that.
Yeah, Melksham isn't great, Crameri is serviceable at times but goes missing in big games, Carlisle can be capable of big things but has the attitude of a 14 year old. Hurley will be a big loss if he goes but I...
