Agreed, and he even rolls off him once they hit the ground. Free kick, move on.
Just watched the vision again and respectfully disagree. He lands on his back first and then rolls away/off Amon. But, it is just a bad tackle and warrants a free kick, that's all.
Disagree with those saying that NicNat doesn't fall on top of Amon, because he clearly does from the vision on page 1 of this thread, however that is a free kick for in the back, and nothing more.
West Coast have to contest this, surely.
From all the still shots in here it looks like the ‘bump’ was delivered to Merrett’s body/shoulder. The head contact appears to be more Douglas’s left arm that comes up and connects Merrett’s chin/nose area, hence the bleeding from the mouth.
I know it is all part of the bumping action, but...
Think you will find the Hawks tried to plead guilty to lesser charge of 'aggressive wrestling' or some s**t to get a reduced sentence too. It wasn't like he just pleaded not guilty your honour.
Anyhow, Boomer is now in the hands of John Burgess and his MRP's Wheel of Fortune. Good luck with that.
I liked it, but Stevie J's problem will be the MRP will say he had an alternative which was to tackle given Hanley had the ball. People comparing this to Hodge are delusional.
I'm guessing here, and let's face it who would really know, the MRP will cite it as Reckless, High Contact, Low (maybe...
Let's face it, rule changes the past 5 years are slowly but surely killing this game.
I find it harder and harder to watch. I'm sure the young folk won't care less as it will be what they are used to, but us "oldies" don't appreciate some of the ridiculous rules introduced recently.
Yeah sure, just like Lewis had his priors wiped after Monfries admitted to diving. I think not.
I'm completely with The Sheik here, nothing in this contest at all. It's footy, get over it and move on before we start wearing bibs and be restricted in which zones we are allowed to go into.
Re: Scarlett reported for striking
You can't possibly compare a deliberate punch directed at an opponents jaw to a bump, surely.
It will get assessed as most have said already, Intentional, High and either Low or Medium impact. Scarlett is perhaps a little lucky he didn't connect ala BBBH...
Are those photos blocked for Swans supporters on here?
On that first picture, and I'm assuming Monfries dropped the ball when first hit by Goodes, he surely should have tackled, hits him high, and therefore will be cited.
Riewoldt was done on this recently, and Buddy repeatedly.
Goodes is in...
This whole arc thing amuses me. I bet I could find at least one player at every club that 'uses an arc' especially when they are kicking from or outside their kicking range. It's not just a rule for Buddy, it's across the whole league.
Yes, Buddy probably uses the arc when he is inside his...
