Yeh Lynch just had him beat. Played a great game. Was very mobile, leading really well, great hands and kicked straight.

Caddy ended up being a pretty handy player for the Tigs tbf

He did. He came off limping. Sav also came off hurt.

People very reactive. He’s had a few weeks of average form, and I think he needs to toughen up a bit and find an edge. Thought he was one of our worst tonight and looked very lost but long career ahead still.

Agree with this a lot. Tigs smashed us 2nd half through the middle, and got us playing crappy kick down the line footy. Lynch was kicking goals and taking marks before the half time break, but we were 20pts up and cruising because we were out playing them everywhere else. Tigs changed a lot at...

Taylor for the majority. Lynch was too good, had him beat from the get go

I think he was playing a defensive mid role though. He was just there to stop outside run. As I said, I agree he should’ve played back last week and this week, but I think our outs kind of forced our hand a bit. Who else would we have played there?

That kicking down the line was exactly like the pies game. Was really hoping we'd have an answer after 3/4 time.

He has spent a large part of his short career playing in the midfield. I agree I would've rather had him back, as I would've last week too. But I think Duncan out, and then Hawkins, played a big part.

O'Connor has been a great find this year. Had some very good games. Not sure why people are potting him.

Duncan out. Tigs v good on the outside, same as Eagles last week. We were out coached a bit in the 2nd half, I think we still could've had enough chances even with Lynch playing okay. They didn't have too much else.

Tim Kelly was awesome. Parfitt woeful. Half time they changed a lot, put way more pressure on us in our back half so we couldn't kick it backwards and switch. We should've changed at 3/4 time and moved the ball quicker but not sure we had it in us. Can understand why Blicavs was on the wing as...

Preview Geelong v Richmond Friday 7th June 750 pm @ MCG

Bit of a danger game I reckon. We have been a bit flat for the last few weeks, whilst still getting the job done. Would like to rest Stanley for one more week (and the bye) but I think it's important we win this one knowing full well our record after the bye is abysmal. Play him and if we are...

    Preview Rd 10 Geelong v Gold Coast Sat 25th May 725pm @Metricon

I'd been hoping for that the last couple of weeks, really put the foot down and put a big score on the board. We will see though. Seems to be a bit of a lull around atm. Probably understandable given our early fixtures, but would still like them to kick on.

It was leg speed. We were a slow side desperate for some pace. "He's awful." "Yes - but we look too slow without him." Same conversation every time he was picked.

Preview Geelong v GWS Sat Apr 13 145 Pm @ KP

I think it's because he isn't clunking them. But at worst I think he's usually first to the ball, and doesn't lose the contest often when it goes to ground either. Very important for our side, and perhaps after our tough run of games to round 6 he will find some form against some lesser-weights...

The Rebuild - It's happening whether we admit it or not

This may be correct, but why is it a KPI? I don't think that disproves the stats on any of the things you've mentioned. It would explain them...

The Rebuild - It's happening whether we admit it or not

Interesting question. My initial thought is that its a combination of both. Can't hurt the youngsters having a dual premiership, dual brownlow medallist and 8 time all australian player guiding you through your first few years of footy. He's still elite, albeit lacking in either fitness or...

The Rebuild - It's happening whether we admit it or not

I think it's also worthwhile noting that due to our continued top half finishes, it's not like we're picking blokes at the top of the draft every year. So the 15 kids we've brought in will take time to find their feet. I'd rather they be blooded together, and enjoy the successes and failures...

The Rebuild - It's happening whether we admit it or not

Given the fallout from the game against the Hawks, I thought I'd perhaps try to put into perspective where our list sits. https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/debutants.1201826/ Since 2017, Geelong have had 15 AFL debutants. This is equal 2nd with Fremantle, and only bested by North with 16...

Opinion Chris Scott's coaching - PART III

I agree with this. There's a big risk of going backwards now after finally compiling a nicely developing list. Also think the coaching staff CS has around him now will greatly benefit his coaching as a whole.

Opinion Chris Scott's coaching - PART III

In the early years of his tenure we had a premiership winning side with a good coach, we are now at the stage where we have a good side with a good coach. Judging him on the last few seasons I don't believe is fair, because I think our results have reflected our list and coach as a whole. His...

Opinion Chris Scott's coaching - PART III

If Scott keeps us in finals and top 4 contention for the next couple of years I'd be happy. Invaluable experience in building a new crop of premiership capable youngsters. However, I don't think he is the coach to turn a group of young players into those premiership hopefuls. The list building...

News OFFICIAL: Gary Ablett traded to Geelong

Don't have time to read through the thread too much but I'm hearing that Gablett is coming home. It's happening. How would he fit into salary structure? Would we need to clear room? Or does he fall under some veterans cap? Heard this info through Mitch Cleary, involved in footy classified...

Game Day Round 10 - Geelong v Port Adelaide

He had a very good first half of the year, was flying at this stage. had career highs in majority of stats. and this season he's played 6 games out of 9 after coming back from injury. and also we're not half way through the season.
