Hodge - WC Performer
Hussey - Not a WC Performer
I said after the 2nd match, drop Hussey if we're going on form...has done **** all in the next two...late innings knock or not...his scores and then again strikerate have no effect.
Drop Hodge after a hundred...Hussey is averaging like 5...
Give Symonds a rest in the group game against South Africa, and get him ready for the Eights.
It is hard to say this, but despite being a matchwinner, if Hussey doesn't perform against the Proteas (another single digit score), will he be considered to be dropped. I mean, it is Hussey, it can't...

Pretty rank stuff by Australia. The pitch played a part, but it was very ordinary. The bowling wasn't 'tie them down to 150' type of bowling, Australia just looked like they weren't switched on, and thought a score of 150 was fine.
What I hate about this, is simple. Australia are using this...
Well done Rahul.
Good to see the recognition. The world knows how good a player he is, but has been in the shadows of another great batsmen in Sachin Tendulkar.
Andrew Symonds is a big possibility. Has made a couple 150+ scores in the last 12-16 months batting at no.5...he is more than capable.
Chris Gayle is my pick though. Big hitter of the ball and when on song can score big and quick. Man, his 300 was huge a couple years back.
I can't remember Lee going over 160, but Akhtar went over 160 in the World Cup.
These speeds also must be at an international level, not just tests or ODI's, so Akhtars still counts, and was the world record.
He is a good bowler, and yes he is a best XI player, however with the likes of Hoggard, Harmison and Anderson along with Flintoff in the Test arena, then Anderson, Flintoff, Panesar along with Dal, Colly and KP they can prob fit him in as a third front line seamer I guess. Lewis however has...
Re: Hodge to play
2 words, World Cup
Brad Hodge is the number one back up batsmen...and will be that up until the Cup. The thing is, he needs to fit into the Australian team, face up to more world class bowling and make a contribution which will come...eventually.
Hodge doesn't deserve his...
Re: Hodge Hussey, Klinger will join white at WC...
Cam White is our only hope...Hodge, despite his incredible domestic form in the one day scene (both State and County) just can't prove himself with the national team.
With Martyn's absence, it obviously strengthens his chances, performance...
Very ordinary effort from the Redbacks. Reasonable pitch where 250 is achievable, and despite the wickets in hand they can't find the boundaries.
200 up
Statistically, Muraliduran is a better bowler, but Shane Warne is the most outstanding player who puts more bums on seats than Murali could dream of. There is also more pressure applied by Warne than Murali, and the 2006/07 Ashes series can show that. Warne hasn't been dominate statistically...
Seriously, the ball that bowled Pietersen was an absolute beauty, but his ball at Edgbaston hasn't just been over-shadowed, it seems like it has been forgotten.
In 'The Pulse' in todays Herald Sun, cricketers MacGill, Miller, Fleming and R Hogg were asked the question if it was his best ball...
Brayshaw can't really relate to the international scene for me. He spends half the year as a football commentator and can't see live cricket overseas. He is good for domestic cricket due to his liveliness, but he hasn't got the professionalism a cricket commentator requires. Mark Nicholas is the...
Can't really expect much from a cricket commentary team, and I believe it is better than most in the world. All players played cricket at first-class level, they have reasonable guest commentators (bar Waqar), they aren't too boring unlike some, and at the same time they can focus on the cricket...
