Yeah nailed it - it's been a no brainer ever since we got the haul for 25. I love the posturing of "oh, have F1 and 21 but give us picks back" vs "oh, give us F1, F2 and 21 with no picks back"... Hmmm wonder where we end up. Just waste all of our time. :( I hope you get a decent player...

We've got Geelong's and ours. GWS's went to GC.

The only scarier thing than Barrett trying to think is the idea of Zorko being involved in our list management.

My big take away from this whole trade week is that apparently we aren't actually last on Barrett's perennial shitlist. I'd say I feel sorry for you guys, but to be honest that'd suggest his opinion actually matters to anyone outside the echoing inside his head.

At Richmond? We'll have to wait until preseason. Hopper should be cheap next year though. That would be much more palatable IMO, but apparently that's already been knocked back from Richmond - they only seem keen to offload Soldo. :/

What were you guys asking for back? That seems a crazy offer to knock back only to send him out a year later. Yes. Anyone suggesting Mathieson should be part of this trade needs their head read.

If you're citing numbers I know I'm not going to convince you but having watched pretty much every GWS game ever, I'll say that Hopper has better disposal, Hopper is better in and under, and Hopper is more damaging with his disposals. Taranto is a much better forward than Hopper and MUCH better...

The latest on the Hopper trade yesterday was that it's likely to be done with a player attached like Soldo or someone.

Only time that I can see that I've posted about the relative value of Taranto here but ok.

Strategy Trade and List management Thread Part 5 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

Future picks are in higher demand this year because of the relative depths of the draft versus the projections for next years. It's why teams have been fine with shuffling around first round picks this year but only later picks (2nd and on) next year. The trade for Taranto is also predicated...

If you ignore the arbitrary starting offers on both sides (e.g. two first rounders for X second rounders back vs two first rounders straight up) I have a sneaking suspicion we gave Power the pick of 15 or our future 1st and we'd downgrade the other, and he chose the future 1st. The future 1st...

I don't disagree - GWS plays down the road so my soft spot for them says Lobb can GAGF anyway.

LOL, Fremantle absolutely have their eye on that pick 21 from us. "Come on guys, get that and send it to us plzzzzzzz." Shame that Lobb is so damn flaky.

He's more of a Weightman-style recipient. If you want giving away silly frees, we've got a likely soon to be ex-captain that we could work into the deal - for a substantial discount in pick requests of course. ;) If you're lucky he'll even give away silly 50s!

Honestly, the Dogs shouldn't want him unless it's a Peter Bell-esque "feather in the cap" or whoever it was that demanded a player for Beams, and had to go out and overpay for Greenwood. Power seems too rational for that kind of silliness. Matho is ok as a fourth midfielder but he can't play...

The AFL app had it as Collingwood's, but that was the only place that said Collingwood's in the end. GWS definitely traded theirs to Brisbane. However the AFL trade tracker page and Brisbane and the Suns' announcements all say GWS's second rounder was traded to the Suns, while the AFL's...

Shiel nominated the Bombers. Mitch Clark (Melbourne instead of Freo). Deledio (GWS instead of Geelong). Maybe another one more recently? It was really really rare and gotten rarer over time.

Having had to deal with similar trade scenarios many times over the years, the Venn diagram of "w***er" to "opposition supporter posting on the board of a team who's player has requested a trade" is almost a circle.

A bit more of ambiguity - some accounts have Brisbane getting Collingwood's F2 (from the Bobby Hill trade) and then trading our own to GC. So we never got GWS's F2. So in summary, who the **** knows.

They really weren't. Andrews, Adams, and Gardiner - weeks 1-7, 11-13, 19-21 Andrews, Adams, and Payne - weeks 8, 10, 15, 16 Adams, Gardiner, and Payne - week 17 Andrews, Gardiner and Payne - weeks 18, and 22-PF All four - week 9 (Payne played forward in Daniher and McStay's absence)

Ha yeah, good point. F-ed that up - so yes, -2 on the spots there and possibly -3 in the unlikely scenario of McKenna joining us (though allegedly he could be a rookie according to one report). I'd expect us to take about five to the draft one way or the other. Robbo, Ely and Yeoman (and...

We've lost four senior listed players already, there's another three uncontracted of which only one is an almost lock to return next year, so that's up to six to begin with - plus a rookie spot where we could move someone like Cockatoo to.
