I'd go a bit differently and target Mitchell and Sam Reid. I know Reid has his faults but as a CHF in his natural position he is good. Now the question is would Ryder be worth those two alone, probably not, but I'd offer 19 as the sweetener with the Swans 2nd coming our way.
Yes that is why you take one in the rookie draft. I'm hesitant to take Giles who is just a worse version of what we have with an actual top list position.
Disagree. Another number 1 ruck is not what we need. We have Bellchambers, we can't have two lumbering rucks. Ideally we need a forward that can chop out. If Belly is fit he operates at his best playing 80% in the ruck!
Sinclair for Howlett could be a win-win...although why would Sinclair want to. Could easily go to a side in need of a ruckman (i.e. Geelong) and get games.
Depends if they see Ryder a better option than Durdin who is the best KP defender. That said they drafted Gardner last year not sure they need to go at a defender that early. The KP defenders in the draft are very good, the forwards have more questions. Wright and McCartin are good but they are...
Hardly, and honestly this idea that we must draft Victorians is ridiculous. How about we just draft the best players. If they happen to be all from WA or SA so be it!
Just seems to have class, whenever he has the ball something good happens. Watch when he has 2-3 pre seasons and he gets in the middle. People will start to have to tag him!
More players that would be attractive at the GC too. Their pick is reasonable and they have decent steaknives. I would be targetting a Sam Day for Ryder. Yes it is BAD to lose Ryder and I would hate it, but Day for Ryder is at least near market value.
Maybe not but it is common damn sense. I am satisfied with trading IF we get market value and that is a HIGH first rounder- pick 4. Any less, we keep him and Ryder can suck it up. I am sure his partner will be 'sad' pocketing 800K a season in Melbourne!
