    2024 Giro D'Italia

Great race and win by Alaphilippe last night in Stage 12. Hardly made a mistake the last 60kms or so that I saw after he Maestri had broken away from that big pack of 30 or 40 riders. I reckon he will try and repeat these sort of tactics in Paris in the Olympic road race. Well I'm assuming he...

    2024 Giro D'Italia

The Pog was too smart and too good over last 4kms or so of the climb, to the finish line.

    2024 Aussie Summer of Cycling

Very sad news. Adelaide being a small place the reason why it happened, will get out soon. The bold bit doesn't happen unless something seriously went wrong - usually speed or alcohol and sometimes both. “The driver is known to the woman. Following an investigation, a 33-year-old Medindie man...

    2022 Tour de France

I greatly miss Robbie McEwan from all of SBS' cycling coverage. I have commented about this in the past. I don't need my commentators having a cycling orgasm. So what if Keenan has a monotone. He's accurate. He got animated and excited enough in the final 60 seconds of stage 5 as Simon Clarke...

    2022 Tour de France

Yes I remember that. That's why I answered with, yes and no, because individual riders have been targeted, but its rare that a protest effects the whole field. Last night and the 2018 farmers protest was the only time I can think of the whole field being stopped. Froome in 2018 was targeted...

    2022 Tour de France

Yes and no. protesters have a few times interfered with riders, but I think only other time they have stopped the race was when angry farmers protested government subsidies, think in the Pyrenees and tear gas was used by the cops which affected the riders when they got to where the protesters...

    2022 Tour de France

Found this last night looking for my TDF fix, but forgot to post it. Its a split screen of Matt Keenan and Gerrans and O'Donnell calling/watching Simon Clarke win stage 5 last week. Matt gets pretty animated as he calls it, whilst the others are silently egging on Clarke. I missed this...

    2022 Tour de France

WVA too good and got Matthews with last 30-50m and the Pog couldn't keep up with these 2 and got 3rd. Matthews boxed the Pog in a bit but couldn't do that to WVA.

Sounds like the Pog wanted to win to promote his cancer research foundation.

That was painful just watching on the couch. Gotta feel for Kamna but he was dying those last 300-400m. Thought Vinegaard had the Pog when he accelerated past him on the final bend and got about 10m in front, but the Pog is too good.

    2022 Tour de France

A day late but just wanted to put on the record that the attack last night by Wout van Aert and his JV teammates was one of the more extraordinary attacks I have seen by a Yellow Jersey wearer outside a mountain stage in the 25 years or more I have been watching the Tour. It was an attack on a...

    2022 Tour de France

Is it just me or is Bridie O'Donnell a try hard?? I miss Robbie McEwen especially on a fast flat stage like tonight with the last 6 or 7kms to go and the sprinters and their team try and set themselves up in the peleton. 5.3 kms to go as I type.

    2022 Tour de France

Pedersen tried hard to get a home town victory, in front of a huge crowd the last 300m, but Fabio Jakobsen was too good in the Nyborg mad dash. WVA gets 2nd and the Dane 3rd.

    2022 Tour de France

My friend married a Dane a couple of years ago and lives on the island of Fyn which is where that 16km bridge and stage 2 ends. The left hand side of Fyn has an 800m or so bridge that joins the mainland. She says that 16km drive from Fyn to Copenhagen can get really windy. Says shes not really a...

    2022 Tour de France

Just got live coverage in SA. Have there been any big crashes yet? That course is bloody tight in places, the crowd and barriers are pretty closer to riders, and the crowds are great, huge turn out and packed, but with the rain the roads must be slippery especially around those painted...
