When I was young we'd visit Pellegrini's every time we were in Melbourne which was about twice a year as all the rellies live thereabouts. I remember almost getting a backhander once when I whined that I wanted McDonald's!
Also saw on a Jamie Oliver show a London chocolate shop which had a variety of chocolates flavoured by the region where the cocoa was sourced. From the orgasmic look on Jamie's face it was a bit of a treat.
Don't want to name drop but the best hot chocolate I have had was at the Spitalfields market in London. We went there four or five times and I'd get a cup of the hot chocolate and a bag of rascherries (sort of glace cherries soaked in raspberry juice). Then after running up and down the carriage...
Me, I'm a Lindt man. No doubt there are other premium brands that are technically superior, but Lindt is my choice.
Down at the humble over-the-counter chocolate bar Cherry Ripe is the winner.
What satisfies your sweet tooth?
Worst that has happened is Air Lingus 'forgetting' to put a trolley of luggage on a plane from London to Dublin. The way it was set up the plane was literally a stone's throw from where you checked your bag in. It only had to go down a conveyor practically to the cargo door.

I've had a similar thing but it improved with gentler exercise. I would jog to the ferry each day, maybe 5 minutes, and did not play for about two weeks. I was never sure if it was shin splints or if I slowed down early enough to lower-impact exercise to avoid a full occurrence.
Now I am in...
Two Seasons in West End.
Almost empty at lunch times for no apparent reason. Three visits and I am hooked on the duck green curry. Subtle spices with a heat that is not overpowering.

Men's Journal picked Saison Dupont last year. Which means trawling through Brisbane's bottleos for me this weekend.
Not long ago (on an age-of-the-Universe scale) one of the Chimay brews (Blue?) was voted (or touted as being generally accepted as) best beer in the world.
I can't say I see the attraction. It is nice if you want to pony up the $7 a stubby but... best in the world?
Being only a few hours from cattle country, pick from:
Norman Hotel
Pineapple Hotel
Breakfast Creek Hotel
Char Char Char (pricey down on Eagle St Pier - for the legal and financial twits)
Any others?
I did it in HS too. Helped a little on our short trips when I was living in the UK. Just general stuff like working out where the dunny was.
Of course the waiter in the cafe on the champs elysee wasn't impressed with my skills. "Yeah well, ******** off and learn English you dumb frog...
I'm dabbling with a French "podclass" - podcast of French lessons. It's interesting but I will probably end up with only an air of smug self-satisfaction and no real French language skills.
I think it depends on the restaurant. Every town or suburb has at least one Chinese place where the ingredients seem to be exclusively from tins and packets, with plenty of cornflour to make the sauces go further.
Paris was beautiful, not even the dog-doo could spoil it. I don't know what the attraction is in the south of France, it's a bit of a bogan/westy hangout. Lots of bad wine in 5L plastic bottles.
Pefkos - on Rhodes - looks great from outside, but is a bit of a tourist trap inside. Still good...
