Just had a gander at the Macgilla interview, poor lad is cooked, I had a great night on the drink with him many moons ago at the Randwick Rutter after a days play…probably pass now.

you cannot imagine the effect this has - an Investigation should have been launched when it happened but like clerical abuse it’s covered up and supposedly “good people” stay silent
I...
It was over almost as quickly as it began, from being prepared to enlighten us all on “how to win Twitter” thru the Dictator Dan business but ultimately it crashed. How did this stunning example of new liberalism avoid his own thread until now? Discuss
Cannot believe this is the end for BGV. Surely he deserved another contract - Roy is not ready. Why play kids when u still have a pro at the top of his game? Confused
Because I had nothing better to do i randomly analysed the last weeks Shield teams together with the World Cup squad to see what their state of origin was. Not surprisingly NSW came out on top with just under a third of the group. Producing a third of the group or double the expectation on %...
There is a lot of debate surrounding the paradigm shift in scoring rates and totals in the game across all forms. Many factors at play, however as a bit of a bat fiend, it's fairly obvious to me where one of the major changes can be curtailed and that's by mandating a maximum width of a bat...
No surprises here;
Michael Clarke (c) (NSW*), Brad Haddin (vc) (NSW), Ryan Harris (QLD), Josh Hazlewood (NSW), Mitchell Johnson (WA), Nathan Lyon (NSW), Mitchell Marsh (WA), Chris Rogers (VIC), Peter Siddle (VIC), Steve Smith (NSW), David Warner (NSW), Shane Watson (NSW). *Notes subject to...

I could have saved CA some significant funds that could have been redirected into grass roots - where it is desperately needed.
Words fail why you would...
It has been consistent - a roy boy rang up 3AW and complained about wearing the Bears strip - no one on AW was able to set him straight - we are irrelevant to the mainstream AFL media, the Holmes sacking got less a few small lines hidden 5 pages in from the back on Friday.
January 19, 2014 will mark ten years since the tragic passing of the great man. Time has passed quickly - yet his legacy lives on still. His greatest disciple is now coach of the national team and has just engineered the most remarkable turn around in form and culture imaginable. People all...
May god be my judge I was just sending him a text when he announced his retirement on air....amazed and selfishly very saddened to see him go. Had his finger on the pulse despite the comical element.
Mods please move if you think it belongs in another thread.
The Succession Plan - sounds wonderful in theory.
First we find an experienced Premiership Coach (they are growing on trees) and appoint him for a 2-3 year term and get him to agree on a succession plan with his protege.
Then we...
Plenty around so let's hear them;
I'll kick off with a couple of gags I heard via Kerry O'Keeffe recently,
"India generates 81 cents of every dollar earned in world cricket"
"Indian TV rights for cricket are worth billions"
"We need them watching cricket on TV at night"
"Because then they...

Interesting development, hopefully he takes a while to adjust. Eyesight is crucial to all batsman, but no one relies on it more...
Finch just got an upgrade based upon the number of points he has accrued this summer.
FFS it's not Fly Buys - he's finished at international level and he gets a contract upgrade. You want evidence we've got problems with our structure and systems - let me present exhibit A.
It started a long time ago, got worse and then Gilly (who I didn't mind as a keeper) took it to all new levels with his ability as a batsman.
Whilst T20 is only a blip on the screen, the Vics have used Handscomb over Carters in the Shield and now we've had Quiney keep for the Stars and Hussey...
And it came down to this......
After 31 preliminary round games, some memorable, some not - the final place in the BBL02 finals series is up for grabs between these two sides in the ultimate Mad Max III Thunderdome scenario...... Two Man Enter - One Man leave.
What seemed only an outside...
The announcement that this Test will be Mike Hussey's last has again strirred my thoughts regarding the development systems in Australian cricket. It's been heartening to hear of the process that turned him from a relatively average junior cricketer into a Test Batsman with an average greater...
Early thoughts;
Wicket looks two paced.
Ponting is horribly out of form - stand up straight lad your head and feet are way out of alignment
The Renegades are a team of goers.
With Bob Quiney about to debut let's hope he gets out of this group of players who only ever got one shot at the big dance. Feel free to add to it;
Jeff Moss
Bryce McGain
Chris Rogers (ok he was with the WACA's but is a Vic now)
Simon Davis
Wayne Phillips
Clint McKay
Ian Callen
It's all over the press but I heard from a mate in the UK that Pietersen will pull the pin after the next Test to play T20 only. It would be a shame given the way he batted in the recently completed game at Headingley.
