Norwood and South Adelaide can merge. It would make the bid stronger. But only at the AFL level. They should still maintain a separate identity at SANFL level unless a reserves league is established.
For a third WA franchise, I suggest that instead of a geographical location, they simply call themselves, "The Quokkas" ala the Dolphins in the NRL.
This would be good as they would be able to draw in fans from all over the country without geographical ties, while still being the WA3 team and...
Norwood being the third SA team is just fantasy.
SA's southern region is severely underrepresented, and the South Adelaide Panthers can fill that void.
Unfortunately for the 20th team, it will never have the same level of popularity or love that the Tassie Devils have acquired in such a short time.
I think it's time to cap it at 19 - we've reached peak AFL.
Look, there is clearly one solid option for the 20th team. South Australia.
The Southern Panthers will be the ultimate footy club. Representing a vast, growing region, stretching from the South of Adelaide all the way to Mt Gambier and beyond.
We’ll even win a flag before Freo too.

A Canberra team taking over the ACT and Southern NSW would win the code war and destroy the NRL's chances of becoming the no.1 footy in Australia. I support this initiative completely but don't tell Canberra Pear I said that :nomouth:
If Brisbane Tigers get the bid they should ditch the Firehawks crap and go in as something more ferocious.
Brisbane Jaguars - the closest thing to a Tiger.
