I like the idea of keeping it as it is but tack on an extra game that carries over until those teams meet again. No idea how that works over a trade period but imagine missing a final because of a suspension in an earlier...
I saw a post recently suggesting a fairer situation would be normal suspension + next game the teams played. Worth a thought I reckon. You could be getting yourself suspended for a final in week 3 or 4. Certainly puts the onus back on the players
