IT IS NOT JUST AN AFL VENUE
The point of the roof is so it won’t just be a 7 football game stadium and a multi event facility that will guarantee schedule security for any entertainment events that would otherwise have to take into account variability of weather which is very much the case with...
If you’re asking why so much if you haven’t noticed the first thing to be hit with inflation is construction. Everyone is basing costs off pre COVID amounts.
When the stadium at the domain was first floated in the 90’s the cost looked astronomical. Now it’s a pittance. If you invest in...
Pros: helps retention of players who don’t want to travel in their localities.
Means a strong upper tier for localities. (Hobart & NW)
Rep games for N, NW & S will mean something again.
Cons: lack of a professionalism that a VFL team may not have the number of list spots to cover.
Force any...
This is a controversial one but I’d love us for the first game to be against gws or Gold Coast as we’ll pack out the stadium for the first game anyway and would be great to see the amount of pure Tasmanians supporting our team.
As a young Launcestonian can confirm. Hobart’s night life is good but that’s from my perspective. Wouldn’t be perfectly serviceable for most though and I don’t think the biggest party goers would be best suited down here anyway as word spreads pretty quick.

The teddy bears picnic tune

If there ever is a vote for a team jumper it will come down to how many choices are given.
There will always be an amount wanting the origin guernsey but the amount of those wanting different designs will be split amongst themselves.
Thanks for the insight. Jack Jumpers is an awesome name and fits the game and team well. Not to mention loved the Tassie inside joke where the mainland had no idea what a jack jumper was.
Very few AFL guernseys feature their mascot and even less from the traditional vfl teams so it’s not that...
The big problem with the draft picks that are being forced to be traded that there is no equal force coming from the the established teams to even the trades meaning Tas will be paying massive bids for barely list cloggers.
What is giving me confidence is the lack of noise coming from the Tas Gov. If there were any problems we would be hearing a lot more from them but it’s all quiet other than the odd nod to Tas Labour shooting itself in the foot repeatedly. (I mean really, it’s perfectly acceptable to say your...
Collingwood appear to view the league through the lense that all clubs should be “profitable” on their own without taking into account $ from the broadcast deal which I’m guessing they would want divided evenly between clubs.
This is not how the afl currently operates and if it did would be as...
