I recently had an old clip from Old Grey Whistle Test come up on my Facebook feed. It prompted me to see what is available on YouTube and discovered that there are hours and hours of great clips.
It was a magnificent program that started in the early 70s on the BBC and was a window to some...
Read this article during the week and found it interesting. We all as coaches want our teams to win and teaching how to win to me is a skill in itself, but there are some very good points made here...

I find now that I am an office Johnny, that I am finding so many ways of listening to music during a day's work. Not just the obvious, Digital Radio, Spotify etc.
I listen pretty regularly to a variety of shows online
Radio National
Daily Planet with Lucky Oceans is a big favourite. He has an...
I am a massive jazz fan. Listen to it heaps and a big fan of the likes of Art Pepper, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz etc. but I have never really enjoyed saxophone in rock music much.
Apart from Clarence Clemons in the E Street Band, it often seems out of place. Dave...
With St Patrick's Day here, my thoughts have turned to the best music to play to celebrate.
I am English, of Irish descent my Mam's side.

Is anybody going to this ?
It is a bit pricey, but looks like it could be a good night. We have a group of 7 or 8 at the moment so looking forward to it.
We are planning on going to the round 5 game at the SCG. Flights and accommodation booked.
Any advice on the best seats at the SCG ? Near the cheer squad would be good ?
Thanks in advance.

Tribute to a great Fremantle supporter.
I miss his columns and I miss him on The Insiders. :(
We are in Sydney at the moment. We get Fox 1,2 and 3 in the hotel but no fox footy.
Clearly the game is not on free to air, so what are the best places to go?
We are catching up with a cousin later. Hopefully he and his West Coast supporting wife know somewhere !!!!
Willie Nelson wrote these 3 songs in the same week.
They have been recorded by people such as Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, BB King, Jerry Lee Lewis , Joe Tex, Lulu, The Spinners, George Jones, Homer Simpson (yes - he did a duet with Linda Ronstadt), Lee Ann Rimes, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall...
Former minister in the Burke and Dowding WA Governments, Ernie Bridge has passed away today.
He was a ground breaker in many ways. The first indigenous person to be a minister in any Australian government. He championed the idea of a pipeline from Fitzroy River to Perth.
He was a member of...
My 5 year old has got his wish to join us on our annual pilgrimage to see a Fremantle away game. This is the last day of the July school holidays, so we will be leaving straight after the game but keen to catch up for a beer before hand.
We told him that he might even get to meet Seppo and he...

I had a bit of editing to do to the Wikipaedia page. They included anybody from the North West which meant that Bryan Ferry who I would love to claim was included. He is definitely from Durham. Same goes for Mark Knopfler and the other Dire Straits guys.
I also had to add in John McClaughlin...
Watching Mitch Duncan play such a great game last night, it ocurred to me that Geelong have done pretty well out of their recruits from East Perth over the years.
From memory Polly Farmer, John K Watts, Gary Malarkey and Duncan are all players that have moved from WAFL with East Perth to...

I remember when the movie came out about Richie Valens when I was a kid and Los Lobos did the music on the soundtrack. I have not really paid any attention to them since then, but recently I bought a 5 CD pack from Basement Discs on a trip to Melbourne and it is some of the most kick arse cool...

Forward 5 and a half years from this thread and a 50 year old woman was killed by a police car last week in Perth.
I for one would hate the police to chase somebody that had stolen my car and put innocent people at risk. My car is insured and it is essentially metal and paint.
Surely, it is...
