So.. round 3 vs Essendon.
This was supposed to be a 'doddle'. That alone sets off alarm bells in my head. Think back to last year and our 'doddles' against Brisbane and Carlton.
So I'm a bit nervous about how we're going to go against Essendon.
I did extensive research for this post. Not...
Not really the most entertaining game. However it's a real John Cahill masterclass. Ken Hinkley keeps going on about 'the pursuit of mastery', well this is what it's like when you've got it.
The wind was ferocious and was the key factor of the day. Every goal was kicked to the northern end. As...

So anyway I've made this document in google documents, it's a SANFL equivalent to the AFL Tables webpage at http://afltables.com/afl/teams/padelaide/season.html which covers the AFL.
So because...
I was looking at some stats of our recent win against North Adelaide and of course what stood out was Kane Mitchell's numbers. It's the latest in a series of performances by our Magpies midfielders; I recall Sam Gray got some big numbers too before he was promoted to the AFL team.
So anyway...
REH is always calling for players with mongrel....

Still, I think we have to put up with him given the great job he does on the Tomahawk and other monster forwards each week!
So we kicked 16.4 on the weekend- 80%. Best ever result by Port Adelaide in the AFL. Well done lads.
This after kicking 18.7 last week and in round 5 (72%)
Given that we've endured scorelines of 5.13 (27%) and 8.17 (32%) this year we fans were owed some goals.
In all seriousness, I'm baffled...
Another Crowbot has come to Alberton to be cured... Trent Hentschel has come on board as an assistant development coach at the SANFL level and also do some admin stuff.... welcome aboard Trent!

Happy New Year- only 3 months and a week till we get to play for Premiership Points!
So anyway, I wanted to see what people thought about our tactical options were in 2015. So I've created a thread for this purpose.
The main thing that came out of our 2014 season was our +1 in defence...
Mrs P. is just watching an episode of 'Recipie to Riches' on Youtube and we noticed in the Woolworths store that a tube of Colgate toothpaste was $6.99 a tube.
I've been gone too long. What the heck? Have prices gone through the roof under the Abbott regime?
(Off-season, it's bloody tough...

West Coast at Norwood? I can live with that for Casual Keith's sake
Richmond at Lavington. Google maps is your friend. I guess we can grow the pie.
But Adelaide at AAMI Stadium? Now someone's out of...
Jim Boy How does one do the html character codes? I want to use the symbol for 'cubed' which is a 3 just as something squared is a 2 over the number x being squared (or cubed). The html character code is [alt]0179.
In need of a footy book fix I bought a copy of "The ox is slow but the earth is patient", an account of Collingwood under Mick Malthouse, written by Malthouse and his fitness guru David Buttifant.
I bought the book with high hopes of a biographical account of Malthouse and his time at...

So it looks like Renouf is out for the season. Lobbe is fine but if he goes down we have these unpalatable choices.
Move Trengove to the ruck
Move Westhoff to the ruck
Bring Butcher in as a...
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/why-lifting-the-draft-age-to-19-would-be-a-bad-idea-20140517-zrfnz.html
There is a lot of talk about raising the draft age to 19 in AFL circles. Emma Quayle, the Age draft expert is against it, and I am too- I don't see why talented players like Jarman...
Hi everyone.
I just was wondering if people at the game can post photos of the big day - crowd shots and game photos from a spectators view. These pics are better then the 'generic' photos that AFL.com.au and the Crowvertiser put up.
Thanks in advance. :footy:

This sort of thing isn't really my go, it is more for the big end of town corporate types. But the fact that PAFC is doing this sort of thing seems really positive with regards to getting new sponsorships/selling corporate boxes/networking and generally making Port Adelaide be a...
