Tigers will hit back hard too now, on that basis.
Nice of you to say but there's more chance of us winning the free kick count than hitting back hard.

The only thing we can hit is the ground when we slip over again and again and again.

what is up with our falling over every 5 min? trying to hard the wrong way.

mate despite the injuries yze has inherited a pretty good list and seems to not know what to do with it. he also doesn't seem to be able to develop young players either. we are 1 and 8 and coming off a 99 odd pt thumping, why shouldn't the heat be on him? do you think winning teams are built on mediocrity?
While he inherited a pretty good list, he has had to deal with his starting midfield sitting in the stands, his 2 best key forwards sitting in the stands, his best young key defender sitting in the stands, a number of older players who are playing being well below their best form and over half the side are players with under 50 games played and half of them haven't played 20 games yet. Even an experienced coach would struggle to have the team playing well in those conditions, as witnessed by WCE and Adam Simpson over the last couple of years when they were dealing with a similar number of injuries to key players.

This season is a blessing in disguise, Yze is getting a look at players that he otherwise may not have because of the injuries and we're finding that a few of the kids who were questionable may actually be worth persisting with moving forward. I know plenty are putting lines through some of them, but to me that is wrong. We're asking most of them to play roles that they aren't able to play at the level we need them to at present.

I get the frustrations that we're feeling as fans, as it's hard to see a side that was so dominant turn into a battler in front of our eyes, but we could very well look back at this year much like we look back at 2016 and say it was the season we needed to have to make the changes needed to get back to being a premiership contender.

Went to last nights nightmare!
From the get go we were undersized all over the ground. Our midfield was smashed and defensively do not play as a team, we all try to tackle the same ball carrier and leave opponents open everywhere.
When we got the ball we were to slow to attack and try and get some momentum our way kicking long to our severely undermanned forwards.
When Ed Richards and James Harmes smash your team you know where you ate at!
A long season ahead
Our task now seems to be -pick one in the draft.

No-one’s laughing. Do u remember laughing at the Hawks or Lions post dynasty? We squeezed every drop out of our list and have 3 x flags to show … most teams don’t even have a GF appearance in the last decade, let alone 3 x cups.

Good point but what about the scats they've won 4 flags in the 2000's but rarely don't play finals?

I don't see any reason that Kozi shouldn't be playing. We cannot score for the life of us, we have no one to kick too. Lefau isn't that guy, he's going to be a weapon as a mid sized tackling forward who can also get up the ground but having him one out is so s**t to watch and not even fair on him.

The rest of the year has to be all about 2025 now. Finish with the highest draft pick possible and blood all the young player. Get Pickett and Martin to their milestones, and give the champs a fitting send off and retirement. This was a worse loss than norf has had all year and the dogs had Weightmann, Libba, Smith injured as well

Green and Smith must debut next week, see what they’ve got

Gutted this morning.
Benny leaving,CFL ripping through our mighty club like hyenas to a carcass
I can never trust the CFL again.
Did you see the umpires walk together in a big group like a show of solidarity against us last night when we have the complete right to show the victim card not them.
Like watching an episode of Cops and the druggy offender blames everyone but himself.

Agreed if we are going to put up with s**t performances like last night may as well play all the kids.

Also want to mention Dan Rioli in the back half. Looks great running out but how often does he penetrate with his kicking? He is not far off Jayden Short when it comes to decision making.

why must we have equalisation in this comp?

the afl copies everything from american sports except no equalisation

theyre gonna even copy the rings now lmao

get rid of equalisation immediately

its a stain on the comp
Geelong won flag after flag then they changed the rules to suit them when we won a few.
My anger for the diahrea stain that is the AFL is at boiling point.

when you break down the list of developing players there are very few who have only played 10 games. he just doesn't seem to have a game plan that the players have bought into or tactical house at this level. granted the injuries have not helped but a classic example is not playing balta back tonight when we were getting pasted by ther tall forwards...

It’s not about 2024 for Yze … it’s about 2025 onwards. Our future backline has Gibcus, Young, Miller, Brown, Tresize, Vlastuin …. our forward line has Kosj and Lefau (assuming Lynch is gone). I like the fact he’s not making short term decisions to help for the now.

Said miller and young are pathetic.
Half the supporters could pick a better mix of players than this MC! Even with all the injuries
In the last game of 2016 we lost to Sydney by 113 points with a back line that contained Rance Astbury Grimes & Vlastuin, even the very best can look bad when the team is getting belted, so I'm not sure laying the boots into Miller and Young after last night is the right way to go.

The Cats have huge advantages that need to be considered
1. Kardinia Park being a weird as hell shape and basically a fortress ensures that they will win about 75% of those games. So they gave 9 games there and they should win 6 or 7 of those. That basically means they need to find at least another 6-7 wins somewhere to make finals.
2. Geelong has a unique offering to potential big recruits. Lifestyle choice is crazy. Want to live in the country with a short commute to training? Geelong is your team. Want a more metropolitan life? Geelong is only a quick drive from Melbourne.
3. The life style choices give Geelong the ability to consistently pitch to high quality players a good lifestyle in their later years of a career. That way they are able to blend their traded in talent with the youth who are good enough. Think about it, when was the last time a young Cats player was forced out and not getting a game left and was successful at another club?

Cats have won one flag since our dynasty.

Why do so many on here always bring up true Cats? Who gives a heck

Massive advantages not including Shocking's rule changes.

And the rest

-Vic Gov pours money into stadium rebuilds for them for political reasons, whereas we are about to bankrupt the club trying to do the same

-Their CEO ran the rules committee

Midfield has always been a concern, and the mix is not right. Last night, it looked too slow and, from my perspective, not too good defensively. We need speed, but don't really see that from our current crop of mids? We'll continue to get smashed in there until Taranto returns...

Fair enough.
Sulking here.
I'm going to Geelong with 5 packets of men's nappies for that game.
