Personally I’d move the amateur club up, they have a list and a following. Heavily involving ex AFL/VFL players could create some serious interest from disgruntled ex Fitzroy/Brisbane lions fans. Just putting my 2 bobs worth in.

I think the league spoon feeding some small clubs is a by product of establishing a national league out of the VFL. A true AFL could have had 4 Victorian, 3 SA, 3 WA, 1 Queensland, 1 NSW, 1 Tasmanian and 1 from the ACT teams rather trying to keep 11 old vfl clubs happy.

Great point but if the league hierarchy aren’t open to a merger it’s going to be last man standing. I think Cudgy are secretly hoping the 2 Corryong based clubs fold and they join the TDFL as their own entity alongside Bullioh. If I was Tumba I’d be looking at merger/relocation options now.
