The Chad Cornes school for kids who don't kick good

Listen to this - Tyson Goldsack on our goal kicking woes: “We reviewed it as coaches. We haven't gone through it with the players yet. But we believe in the process. It's just kind of how we're going about it from week to week. We think the process is right. Are we taking it into the games and...

Opinion Sack Hinkley 10 - UnTENable

Yes, but this is coming from a guy who said that he realised he got it wrong last year in playing players that weren't ready to go (ala Lycett who should have went for surgery as soon as he wasn't right to go in the Carlton game). He rested Dixon against Collingwood even when we were missing...

Opinion Sack Hinkley 10 - UnTENable

You can only go by what the player themselves are feeling. You can't see pain or know what another person is feeling, and as Hinkley said in the press conference before the game, he's been in situations with guys like Boak who have managed to come back from a hamstring strain earlier than...

Opinion Sack Hinkley 10 - UnTENable

I’m sorry, but there’s only one person who is ultimately responsible for their ability to say “Yes, after a training session I feel one hundred percent”, and that’s the player involved. The person who is ultimately responsible for selection is Hinkley and he put his hand up and said he got it...

    Review SHOWDOWN 55

You've taken two things I've said and run completely the opposite way with them. First of all, go back to the first post I made in the changes thread instead of cherry picking the last one. I specifically said I would play Finlayson in this game because Adelaide's worst loss of the season came...

    Review SHOWDOWN 55

Absolute rubbish. If you're not going to play Finlayson when Adelaide brings in that many tall defenders, then you're playing into their hands when all you are doing is continuing to bomb it long into a forward line that has +2 in defence. And what was McEntee's contribution to the game...

    Prediction Mid-season draft

Dayten Uerata thanks. Not interested in any players over 26 who have never been in an AFL system.

Game Day Round 8 - Port v Crows - Showdown 55 (Chug Jug Edition) (Go Port)

Last two games against Adelaide: Round 3, 2023 - The ghost of Tom Joad Jonas and Tom Clurey were playing for us in defence. Thilthorpe kicked 5 goals (he's not playing), Pedlar kicked 3 goals (he's not playing). Round 20, 2023 - Wayne Milera had 32 disposals (he's not playing). Dante Visentini...

    Injury 2024 Injury Updates Thread

Multiple sources say a Grade 1 strain can take anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks to recover from - it just depends on how severe the strain is. Also, some people are more diligent with rehab than others. I’m sure if Fantasia got this injury, we wouldn’t see him for six weeks.

Preview Changes & Preview Thread for Showdown 55

These are the results of Hinkley's tenure as head coach of Port, bearing in mind that less than 86 points conceded is considered a premiership defence: Matthew Nicks is defence coach. Round 3, 2013 - win 118-109 Round 19, 2013 - win 107-103 Phil Walsh is appointed midfield coach. Round 2...

Preview Changes & Preview Thread for Showdown 55

Just remember that Adelaide's biggest loss of the season came against Fremantle who played the following forward line: Taberner - 197cm Amiss - 196cm Treacy - 193cm Banfield - 190cm There is absolutely room for us to play all of Dixon, Finlayson, Marshall and Georgiades in the same forward...

Player Watch Pick #16 (2016) - Todd Marshall

    Player Watch Pick #18 (2016) - Sam Powell-Pepper

Pretty sure we can do without the socioeconomic commentary about how much “better” it is that Sam has done his ACL because he’s in a professional system compared to someone in a bush league or in an amateur environment. It’s a s**t injury no matter who it happens to, regardless of whether it’s a...

Player Watch Pick #16 (2016) - Todd Marshall

Tuesday was the anniversary of his father's death. While he had a poor game, I'm cutting him some slack this week.
