I mean this whole chain is a bit unnecessary - no one is doubting that Hawkins is comfortably in our best team.
But, just because he's a brilliant player, doesn't mean he's a perfect player - Neale does seem to add improved defensive pressure and will probably be able crash more packs, because...
Ah, the old slippery slope argument.
The "never-ending need for some to be offended" is a rather ironic statement here.
Would love to know how no longer being able to look up mostly out-of-date (if not just completely made up) weights is encroaching on your enjoyment of anything.
Or, I...
It's tough, because we don't see how things are in behind the scenes, but the selection of Dangerfield as captain did kind of feel like the default choice (rather than necessarily the right choice).
I think we probably put too much weight on how much impact the captain has on on-field...
If you're talking about the 2022 game, I'm pretty sure he was the sub and didn't play the first half (came on straight into the ruck for Stanley), so you might be misremembering that part.
For the record, I thought his effort as a 2nd gamer (I think he may have played a game before that?)...
This would make sense, but I wonder if they keep him in the same position as this season, since he's basically a 3rd wingman already, with the amount of running he does.
It seems pretty clear that Scott values players who can get back to help in defense, and at our best Miers as a half forward...
Well, I'd agree with the poster above and say that Knevitt is probably a fair bit quicker than Menegola, and at the same age Menegola wasn't racking up touches in the AFL either, so a little patience is probably merited.
I think he'll get wing time, and I'm pretty confident he'll do a solid job...
I'm sure they meant George Stevens.
I think George will play a fair few games, but Knevitt will play more - and probably much of his game time will be spent on the wing.
It's not like we've shown that much hesitation to playing slow players on the wing previously. Knevitt is good overhead and...
Kind of reminds me of Kane Lambert who used to play for Richmond. Went through a somewhat similar path to the AFL too.
Think Lambert was a bit more of a hard nut, and not quite as quick, but had that similar clean disposal and good elusiveness in tight - and both clearly know where the goals are.
Us totally shutting down their transition and ball movement will be attributed to the defensive injuries and every journalist's favourite: our narrow home ground
Having watched Show Me The Money, the Dangerfield involvement with the Bowes trade was very impressive from a potential captaincy standpoint. Stewart was involved too in the presentation, but the manager even rang Danger to tell him specifically, not Mackie or anyone else.
