Game Day Around The Grounds Rounds 21 - 24

Agree with this, although would have Sydney last.

1. Dogs have been awful, could be without Naughton depending on scans and our forwards on the MCG should destroy the dogs meek backline.

2. GWS, we are just better than them and at MCG should win

3. Saints have hit good form after there mid season slump, only just got beat by Brisbane in Brisbane and Ross Lyon is always dangerous.

4. Swans have destroyed us the 2 times we have played this year.. remembering back to that pre season game yuck.. and tbh the only game I wouldn’t be confident going into.
Dogs every day of the week, they’re in terrible form. Need to win today.

North listened to Kingy.. sacrificing the number 1 to improve their compensation and boost case for assistance.

Barely a sacrifice when Pick 1 is going to a WA club. Good chance they don’t even select Reid.

The only way I'm worried about the Saints is if they fixture it at MARVEL.

Brisbane could have destroyed them today and they didn't even get out of second gear all game

Won't happen Wickz.

Will be at the MCG.

dogs and gws capable of anything, saints and sydney a bit more consistent. we tend to match up well against the doggies and if we've had the wood over a team even when we've been a bit shit, it's them. apart from when lewis young took us apart on debut.
doggies have some nice very tall targets but they're not the types to tear you apart (yet), JUH in particular has been a bit quiet lately. same in reverse, we can stretch their defence but our twin talls are a bit more potent and we've found a lot of other avenues.

Kind of weird that the Saints want it at Marvel Stadium. They have 58,000 members, which is how many people Marvel Stadium holds. So they basically want thousands of their own supporters to miss out on watching them in a final. 😂

Fancy 'requesting' a home final at their home ground.

Walking around the mighty AO.

11am & the Swampies fans are already into the Port Road Gatorade.

One in the hand & a traveller in the side pocket, dart hanging from the top lip.

& these are the mums!!!

All class.😎👍
I dare you to make up a banner that says "the goal umpire got it right" and take a stroll down Rundle mall holding it aloft.

ARC trying to overcorrect everything after last weeks shambles and score reviewing everything this weekend. 😂
They've got to stop reviewing goals, there's no point. 95% of the time it's an unnecessary delay given they're reviewing them anyway on the way back to the centre.

They also still just take a bit too long for obvious reviews. How long does it really take to get the 'Edge' technology working? I feel like it could be faster.

dogs board:

"Rory Lobb would have been a lock for AA ruckman if given the opportunity".

and

"Blues can now sit back, take the loss, watch what the Giants must-win A plan is and counter accordingly in a fortnight".

Think the part about GWS is true, nice little advantage for us.

On the other hand they don't get to see us with Cripps, Doc and probably Pitto in the side.

Bit of a disaster if Port loses and melb wins today...would mean they swap ladder positions.

Opens the possibility if we win our first final to have to play Port at AO then Brisbane at the Gabba...extremely difficult.

Does also open the possibility of playing Pies at MCG second week and then Melbourne at MCG third week.

There's no scenario where we play the Swans in week one of the finals. Can only meet them in the GF.

We win today, we play the Dogs
We lose, and Sydney lose, we play GWS
We lose, Sydney win, and the collective margin of the two games is less than about 60 points, we still finish 5th and play GWS
We lose, Sydney win, and the collective margin of the two games is greater than about 60 points, we drop to 6th and play St Kilda.
We draw, we play GWS
Sydney draw, we play either Dogs or GWS, depending on result of our game. Sydney will get a home game vs Saints.

In any of these scenarios, we'll play at the 'G, as Brisbane have a home final, so maximum 3 games at the 'G, prob on the Thu, Fri, Sat arvo.

We can meet Sydney first up in an elimination final if we lose and Melbourne win. That has us finishing 5th and Sydney 8th. I just did the ladder predictor and:

It’s down to 3 potential opponents.
  • If we win it’s the Bulldogs.
  • If we lose and Sydney win, it’s GWS.
  • If we lose and Melbourne win, it’s Sydney.

Either way should we be good enough to make a prelim it’s most like an interstate trip.

Oops, yes it's Saints we can't meet.
